I recommend coming by car, as there isn’t much within walking distance, but the on-site restaurant is excellent — great food, very romantic atmosphere, and the whole area is quiet and peaceful. "This is a precious little hotel. Everything is stellar, but we wish to acknowledge the staff in particular. Nadia, Anna, and Susanna at reception could not have been more helpful. Alfredo cheerfully hauled our luggage up and down many flights. But Andrea, the chef, was the star. Young and very talented, he is going places. His dishes were superb. Our room was interesting. The view, towards the lake, was lovely. The sink, and “periscope“ faucet dropping straight down from the ceiling, was aesthetically pleasing, but not very functional. Other than that, this hotel is perfection. We couldn’t recommend it more highly."

"Albergo Sala was a unique experience in the small village of Valbrona. It was quiet and not much to do but that's what we were looking for. The staff were excellent and very helpful and the food was wonderful. The inn is historic and has been in the family for a few hundred years! As it is off the beaten track it is advisable to have a car as public transport is infrequent and challenging and taxi service is quite expensive. Aside from that it was a great place to stay a few days."
