Beautiful old hotel in heart of Malmö

A lovely hotel just a short walk across a canal from Malmö Central Station. Check-in service was through an adjacent pub and there was no front desk. Breakfast buffet was quite good. In many respects the hotel is a gem, in a gem of a city.

Was a bit confused when check-in as at a different adress then the one listed on hotels.com. It was at a bar that opened at 4pm, and it was clearly signs everywhere. Some thresholds. Old but cool rooms

Our family room was huge, quiet, and clean. It is very confusing as to where EXACTLY you go to check in. The bar tender checks you in. Our bags were safely stored at the sister property, but our reservation kept making reference to the "main building." Don't let the picture of a major staircase throw you off. There is an elevator. Other than location confusion we enjoyed ourselves.

Not really a hotel at the moment. Under construction, construction noise afternoon and morning, check-in procedures not really great, issues with the bathroom, and so forth. I understand why they want to renovate. A solid 1-star review if not for the breakfast and the friendly staff (not that they were easy to find).

Center location. Great value.

Great hotel in the center of Malmö. The room was spacious and comfortable yet, a little dated. No AC, so during summer gets a little too hot and they just provide a little fan. Breakfast was simple, but good. Note: Check in is at a different location. You actually check in at the bar around the corner (same name). We were having issues getting in the building until a guest showed up and explained this to us. Other than that, the staff was friendly and everything went great.

Check in was a disaster. Took about an hour. Maybe it was a bad day. Not a full-service hotel: no reception, no one to call about anything -- though the pricing is that of a full-service hotel. I wrote to the management to enquire. No response yet -- so I guess that also shows this hotel is "not ready". The room was nice, and the breakfast, at an adjacent hotel, was good.

The breakfast and the staff at breakfast and at the bar down the road were polite and accommodating. However the fact that you need to check in at the bar and make your way to the hotel building without any staff was confusing. Especially when carrying lots of luggage. I tried to email the hotel well in advance before my stay to ask about a baby cot but never got a reply.

Smells like excrement!

We had booked 2 rooms and had to check in late. When we got to the rooms, they smelled like gas and excrement. The hotel is under reconstruction, and we were not warned in any way. Windows could not be opened, so there was no way to get fresh air in. We had to check out at midnight and find another hotel 7 kilometers away. Currently, there is no compensation for the extra costs associated with the taxi and other hotel. Hotels.com gave a small voucher for the inconvenience, but nothing that covers the extra cost and inconvenience.

Wir haben als eine 6 köpfige Familie bei diesem Hotel gebucht. Die haben uns ein „Familienzimmer“ gegeben, wo nur 4 Betten waren. Da der Check-In in dem anderen Gebäude war, hatte ich ehrlich gesagt keine Lust rüber zu laufen, da es zu spät war. Deswegen mussten wir 6 Personen in 4 Betten schlafen. Das war sehr unbequem.
