We loved it! Our A-frame "Big Blue" was perfect for our family of four - great space, very comfortable beds and useful kitchenette. Nice walking trails on the property and exceptionally nice staff at the front desk. Charming place! Thank you for a great experience.

Convenient location for a much needed break during a self driving tour around the South Island. The surround environment, particularly the trails are amazing. You can walk in a rain forest while enjoying the views of ice covered mountains. You may also experience hailing or snowing in the middle of summer.

The chalets are so cute and comfortable, and they had the heater running before I checked in so I could be toasty and warm in winter. It's a little rustic but charming and has a view of beautiful stars at night

It was in a great spot our chalet was very roomy but getting a bit rundown, the walks in the bush were easy and quite interesting, overall, we had a great stay. The restaurant was pretty good too!

Overall, Wonderland Makarora is a very nice location and you will find everything you need in the lovely holiday homes. In the morning, it is quite noisy with helicopters and small planes taking off nearby and it wouldn't hurt to put a few signs up so that people can find the shower block without having to ask around.

The A frame economy accomodation was accurate to so many reviews Iā€™d read. Clean, a little dated, comfortable beds and nice linen, reasonable cooking facilities and fridge etc. Shared shower area was ok but shared toilets clean. Suited my family of 5 adults across 2 cabins for an easy stop over from Manapouri to Franz Joseph. Good value, kind staff. Thanks for having us šŸ™
