"HIKERS BEWARE: Welcome to Prison 1. Neglect - toilet wouldn’t flush without sticking hand in tank, bathroom vanity and ceiling falling apart, hung two blankets over paper thin curtains to block bright street lights to sleep, warm/stuffy and windows slam with wind, walls are paper thin and doors make an insane amount of noise. Goodbye sleep. 2. Mismanagement - the owner requested non-emergent access to our room in the early morning and at MIDNIGHT (while DRUNK) to fix the gurgling toilet noise he could hear from downstairs, but never actually fixed the functionality of the toilet. It takes 10 minutes to flush a poop. 3. No food ANYWHERE - no food in the hotel unless served by the hotel. No mini fridge because of the no food rule, so hikers who are planning breakfast/lunch for the following day are screwed. 4. Curfew after 12:30am - locked in the hotel until reception reopens the following morning. Bizarre rule for a hotel in a town where hikers usually start their day at 2-4am for sunrise hikes. The only way out of the hotel at that hour is to preschedule having the door unlocked the afternoon before. Also a safety risk should there be an emergency (fire, earthquake, etc.) and people need to exit the building in a hurry. 5. Returning hotel key to reception - key must be returned each time you leave the hotel because the keychains are sentimental. Utter annoyance and feeling of insecurity given keys are within reach and guests names aren’t confirmed when re-obtaining keys."

"The staff was wonderful; they really made our stay special. They were helpful, kind, and knowledgable. The breakfast was very good and very reliable. The room was clean and cleaned daily. If we needed anything, we could ask. The bed was very comfortable. The property was far (for El Chalten) from the bus station but close to one of the best hikes. The other hikes were also easy to get to. The only down side was the fact that a structure was built in front. It does not affect the upper floor. We were on the first floor and not affected by it very much either. But a couple of units would be. "

"It’s definitely one of the three nicest hotels in town. The hidden gem is the restaurant. On a street littered with same-same backpacker joints, this restaurant has a real chef and grows its own vegetables. Because it’s not on the main drag it’s easy to walk into even when other places have a wait. In my experience it’s the best in town. "

"New facility with clean room and great lobby space to hang out until it was time to head to the bus station. Good solid breakfast. Hotel is located in the best section of this hiking town for trail access and good restaurants/bars."

"Parking right on front of hotel, easy to find, felt secure. Staff was extremely friendly, helped with all questions. Hotel seems modern, Jacuzzi and sauna was great after a long day hiking. spots need to be reserved to avoid overcrowding, was no problem during our stay. "
