I don’t usually leave negative reviews, but this hotel had some real issues. The older look didn’t bother me, but the bathtub wouldn’t drain, and the front door had a visible gap where light came through. During a rainstorm, water leaked into the room and soaked the carpet. There was a strong musty smell, and with how wet the carpet was, it felt like a possible health concern.

Welp, our first room #19 the light in bathroom was burnt out...and room smelt mildew really bad. They moved us to room # 21 that had a wobbly table that my husband fixed...the carpet felt damp...wasn't the best place to stay. Property needs upgraded. Customer service was poor...and rude. Won't go back.

Traveling by motorcycle stated this place so we can catch the boat ride The pool was not an option as it was green and nasty and hadn't been cleaned in a while nor the hot tub that was in the building or pool whatever it was you can see he was nasty for the price the room was a good room to catch some sleep and in rest

Grungy looking room with assorted lighting fixtures that were interesting; as well as crooked shelves holding the refrigerator and microwave. There was an interesting wardrobe that gave the room a lower qualizty vibe.

This hotel room was nothing like they showed on the app. It smelled really bad inside, things looked broken, bed and furniture were extremely out dated and the room was very small. We did not stay either of the 2 nights we immediately removed our things and cancelled our reservation.

I had one of the worst hotel experiences ever. The place was extremely run-down, smelled awful, and felt like it hadn’t been properly cleaned or maintained in years. The building is very old and in desperate need of renovation. From the moment I walked in, I was overwhelmed by the musty odor and general lack of care. It honestly felt more like a neglected storage facility than a place to sleep. I wouldn’t stay here again even if it were free. Save yourself the disappointment and book elsewhere.

First off some how expedia had the wrong stay date for my anniversary trip at the starlite budget inn in mackinaw city..they had my check in time for june 19th check out on the 20th it was supposed to be for june 28th check out on the 29th and they dont refunds so we tried to call and the date..they refused to do so and the manager was very rude to my wife..would not recommend expidia and will certainly never recommend the Starlite to ANYONE..i am out $70 and cannot afford to book another hotel so they have effectively ruined and canceled my 2 year anniversary trip so good luck to anyone unfortunate enough to book here

The room was not clean and I saw ants all over the bathtub. The water smells like its coming from some pond. Overall not a good experience at this hotel.

Overall, for the price we made it was alright. Stayed here for two nights. Check in was good, however checking out there was no one at the desk. The sheets still had hair, water smelled like rust and there was mold on the vents in the bathroom. I give it a 3/10.

First room we were given did not have any hot water. They however made it right and got us a different room after testing to make sure the hot water worked. But the second rooms hot water didn't get hot until about 10 minutes of running and then didn't stay warm for a full shower after that. A bit disappointed that I spent $63 and we could not even get two warm showers out of it after a very long day.

The room we were in needs serious updating. The water flowed orange when we first turned it on. A towel that was hung up clean, and ready to use was not clean. It had stuff on it. The seals on the door and the air conditioner were nonexistent. You can see straight outside. The bed was also hyper worn out and uncomfortable. You would sink/roll into the middle. It was cool that we got tickets to the water park for a day. But it was just that. It wasn’t for the duration of the stay. The waterpark was also so chlorinated that it made your eyes burn after 10 minutes. The trash cans in the room were so little that we couldn’t throw anything away after the first day. Overall the motel is one you book to just sleep in.

It was nice for the price but as soon as we walked into the room there was a mildew / bleach smell. Then we went to the pool and the bottom of it was gross. Taking a shower was a 30 minute wait as the water ran for it to be able to warm up and not be freezing cold. Finally, when we went to use the microwave it didn’t work, like no lights on at all. It was just broken.
