We had a delightful stay at Keekorock! The staff were knowledgeable, helpful and courteous. The grounds have to be seen to believe, and the location cannot be beat.
We stayed 2 nights, the property was beautiful right in the middle of Masai Mara. The rooms were good except that they were a little too dark. Little more lighting would have been good. We had the presidential suite so we had the whole suite to ourselves which was nice.
Food was good, lot of variety (vegetarian and indian food options).
One downside was power getting cut both nights we were there for a little time.
The staff was particularly very nice and helpful. Their service was above what i expected plus they got to teach me a bit of swahili. The environment was quite safe too
I loved that wildlife was able to roam about the grounds. It was pretty special to see zebras munching on grass just yards from our room. We could hear the hippos in the hippo pond calling during the night! It was a very memorable experience:)
The property is very old styled.
We had to beg them to pick us from the airstrip.
They had our booking, knew we were coming , marketed their ballon safaris and ignored our messages to pick us. Eventually they pucked us. One managed claimed we had not paid our accommodation despite the fact that we had paid before arrival. Another staff said our accommodation was fully paid in advance.
Sarova is much better. We visited Sarova they welcomed very well even though we were not staying there. They offered us free drinks.
Sarova service is great.
We will not stay in Muthu Kekoorok again.

Towels were bad. No hot water in the bathroom. Had to have a cold shower in the morning at checkout. Complained at the reception. No response. Staff and the barman were rude. Will not use this property again.
The property is average, definitely not worth the amount of money charged. For that amount of money $300 plus a night, you should receive a 4 star plus accommodation. I had to ask for towels in the room. The food was buffet style but still average.
This is a fantastic property. We stayed in the presidential suite because we could have our entire family under one roof. The staff was amazing. You can hear hippos at the River. The only thing to be desired was the food. Most dishes are Indian and just okay. After a few days we were really craving something else. Also be mindful that coffee and tea are included with meals, but only if you get it yourself.
Moldy bed sheet, dirty light switches, broken bed net. Smelly bar area. When I reported the above issues, 3 groups of staff came and decided to offer me a bottle of free beer ( wine). I don’t drink beer ( wine). Then the manager knocked my room door twice to force me to accept it. I paid $NZ 1100 per room per night. This is the worst 5 star hotel I have ever experienced.
Amazing staff. Very friendly. Especially kitchen manager Mr. Manish. He took special care of us and our children. We got food catered specially for us according to our taste sent straight to the table. That food was not even included in the buffet.
The first minute we reached the lodge we weee a little disappointed as the executive suite we booked was not available. But they were generous enough to offer us a presidential suite. It made our stay very very enjoyable and relaxing.
The pool should be temperature controlled though. It was freezing.
The lodge is very ideally located right in the middle of Masai Mara so we don’t have to travel a lot for the game drives.

Liked: Staff & service
Disliked: Property conditions & facilities

Descent compared to other lodges outside the game reserve. Nice staff, but be ready to tip because they expect.
It was a good experience ,Food was average but everything else of the property is good value for money ,There are of course better properties in Masai Mara but they are also a lot more expensive
Wish they had more activity around HIPPO BAR it should be really one of the highlights of the property

Liked: Staff & service
Disliked: Cleanliness, amenities
The room was not pleasant. Poorly kept. Windows were broken, cracks in the walls, critters everywhere. I flew in via safarilink and the lodge neglected to provide transportation from the airstrip to the hotel accommodations. I was informed of a national reserve fee of usd 70 per day the second day of my stay. Reservation states “full board” but that does not include beverages. The lodge completely shuts off power at pre-determined times. WiFi was poor. Staff was great. Very accommodating. Just a bad overall visit. I’d love to visit Masai Mara again, just not at Keekorok Lodge.
