First and foremost, the host Sylvie is a rare gem. She cares and is deeply invested in her role providing a comfortable atmosphere and setting. You will not find a better host than she. Warm, graceful, accommodating, organized, thoughtful and funny are just a few of her qualities.
The room is gorgeous and cozy. All amenities are provided; she has thought of all the essentials and then some. The view of Lyon from the room is amazing. On a clear day the Alps are visible in the far distance. For breakfast she is extremely generous, happily caters to your preferences and remembers them.
The location in vieux Lyon is incredible. There are tons of cafes and restaurants within just minutes walking. Whether it’s traditional Lyonnais fare or more modern and creative, the food is of the highest order, in keeping with Lyon as a world culinary capital. Museums and parks are also easily walkable distances.
For a homey, personalized experience you cannot do any better than to stay with Sylvie. I will definitely be returning, whether as a tourist again—there were a few things I didn’t get round to doing—or as a retired person. That’s how much I loved the place and experience.
