Dan made us very welcome, helpful, showed us our rooms on ground floor, back of the hotel, pointed out parking due to disability. Bunny was very pleasant and helpful too. evening meal restaurant staff were great, food very nice.2nd evening we had already eaten, only wanted drinks in the bar, table in the window we wanted to sit at was full of dirty plates and glasses from the previous guests and we asked the person in the bar whose name we didn’t get if someone could clear the table as we had our drinks and sat down. He snapped at us and said ‘they’ve only just left’ and he asked a female member of staff to clear the table. She came and took 3 plates but left the table full of glasses, bottle and ice bucket and said she’d be back for the rest. There was hardly any room for us to put our drinks and the table was dirty and wet. She never returned to finish clearing the table but cleared next one to us and behind us. We asked again if someone could clear and clean the table but was ignored. We eventually moved the dirty glasses etc onto table next to us and immediately the male bar staff member stormed over and abruptly picked up the glasses then the rest, huffing and puffing as he did so without an apology/acknowledgement so we went elsewhere for rest of stay. We weren’t warned about fire alarm test the next morning at 8.45 and dog left barking above our rooms at night, obv a flat above with noisy washer spinning, complained, won’t return or recommend, overpriced, rooms shabby.
