Good short stay
4 night stay, there was 3 people in 4 people room, two bunk beds, wardrobes, sink. Very warm place, but its easy to open a window. Breakfast included. The hostel is about 25 min walking from a town centre. It's a good pick place for a trips. Taxi to the airport cost less than 200 NOK. The firls in the reception are very helpfull.

Great stay
Very friendly and helpful staff. Pretty good selection of food for breakfast. Bedroom and restrooms are clean. Thankful to have a common kitchen area to cook food. Very slippery road on the way up to the property when we got there because of snow/ice. Overall a very good stay.

Ideal place for a budget traveler
This place is ideal for budget travelers. It is a bit far from the city center, but still in walking distance. I stayed in a dormitory. The room was not big for 4 people, but it was fine. The staffs are really helpful and friendly! I will recommend you to stay there if you are planning to visit Svalbard.

Nice and kind stuff. Enough wc and showers. Cozy social room and dining room with christmas tree and relaxing music. Good breakfast. The kitchen upstairs wasnt enough clean.

Keep my room, I’ll be back 😅
I’ve been staying there for my second time. I love that place! It’s silent, away form those fancy hotels in the middle of Longyearbyen and also just a few steps away from an awesome spot without light pollution. I’ll be back in Svalbard with a small crew to make a documentary and hope to stay there this time too

I booked my stay quite a few months ago and hadnt realised that I would be staying in a mixed dormitory. I did initially give a poor review but then discussed it with the receptionist at the hostel. I had no complaints about the rest of my stay. The breakfast was excellent.

Had two one night stays at this property either side of a cruise and I can recommend it, especially for those wanting an alternative to the expensive hotels. It is not extremely central but an easy enough walk into town. Rooms felt a bit cramped but overall okay. Bathrooms were usually available and clean. Free breakfast was good (especially considering the location). A bit more expensive than usual hostels/guesthouses but it is Svalbard.

Overall a great property. Serviced by the bus from the airport. It is a bit of a walk into town (fine if you are aware of this and aren't carrying your bags). Rooms quite small but tidy. Very rarely had to wait to use the toilet or shower and they were in good condition. Free breakfast was a great start to the day. Pricepoint a bit high for a hostel but to be expected for this location. Good common area for those with late flights. Would recommend.

We were unable to use our booking because SAS cancelled the flights needed for this stay. Despite having 10 months to find other occupants for the room they would not give us a refund. They showed a complete lack of understanding and empathy because of their no cancellation policy, even though the cancellation was not our fault. Unhelpful and greedy.

Cheapest option in the area, clean and good staff. Far from the city to be prepared for a walk. Small holding area (between door and reception) for shoes etc but I can deal with it.

Simple good hotel.
Simple hotel in the style of a hostel. Clean rooms, friendly staff, good breakfast. Location very good for watching northern lights.

Best place to stay like home in Longyearbyen
I really liked this place. When I decided to go Longyearbyen I didn’t expected that i will get a place to stay like home. Comfort, cleanliness, hospitality, instant support by polite staff. Thank you Angie & Olena for everything. Breakfast was also very good (suitable for vegetarian too). This place was beyond my expectations. I went there to experience polar nights & polat lights. So i don’t need to go far to see northern lights as there is very less light pollution (because this place is not in city centre). Google the pictures of Gjesthuset. I will visit Longyearbyen and it will be my place from now-onwards. Suitable for Solo, family snd groups. Thank you Max Gyan

We had a lovely stay at the Guesthuset. Nice and secluded from the rest of the town, but still close enough to things to walk and enjoy the view. Staff are very helpful and the breakfast is good. Highly recommended.

Cheapest place in town
A great hostel with very friendly staff and super clean and a good breakfast. I stayed for a week and made myself at home. The rooms are way to small for 4 people so I spent most of my non trip days in the comfy lounge.

Overall, a very nice hostel! The breakfast was free and the spread was really really great. The showers and bathrooms were clean and the main rooms gave off a homey vibe. All in all i was pleasantly surprised.

6 days outside Longyearbyen
This was the cheapest hotel we could find for the dates we were in Svalbard. The breakfast was decent, the communal showers, toilets and kitchen were all clean. The wifi was great. It was noisy from the other rooms and the corridor with people coming and going at all hours. If you can afford to go on any activities then they will all pick you up directly from the accommodation. The walk from Nybyen to the shops and restaurants in Longyearbyen was quite tedious after doing it 5 or 6 times, especially if there was an icy wind blowing down the hill into your face. But a lot of people come to Svalbard for that kind of experience so it's up to you to embrace it if you can.

For the no-frills traveller
The good: place is no frills, value-for-money. Breakfast provided. To be improved: Bed size and lockers. The bunk beds were a little small. Those on the bottom bunk cannot sit up straight. There is a single closet for a room of 4 people. Again, as the bunk beds are short, you can't fit a large luggage under the bed either.

Perfect Value-for-money Stay in Svalbard
Amazing! Awesome! Hostel was clean, well equipped and well maintained. Service was cheerful and efficient. Breakfast was simple but adequate. A nice 30 minute leisurely stroll to town centre. Location was incredible, right next to majestic views. And best of all, a short walk away, wonderful views of northern lights, best times 12 midnight to 2 am (weather permitting)

Great Price, friendly staff , best value for money
Great stay here. Hotel is 25 minute beautiful walk to the main street surrounded by amazing glaciers and 24 hour sunlight in Summer. Enough toilets available and never had to wait. Arrived at midnight and check in was very smooth. Many staff from Thailand and are very friendly + nice! Special mention to Panchait for dropping me off at the airport during a crazy snow storm after missing my bus. I will definitely stay here again if I am fortunate to return to Svalbard.
