"La Mezzaluna is a short walk from Barga Gallicano train station, and buses to Lucca. Rita is amazingly hospitable & welcoming, and did so much to make our stay enjoyable. Rooms are very nice, buffet breakfast set us up for the day. There is a bus up to Barga during the day, and a taxi back in evening.If you visit Barga, this is the place to stay. "

"We arrived in the evening, and had a bit of a challenging checking in. I would advise to have someone who is a native Italian speaker join you to communicate with the staff. We were moved to another guesthouse as there was a mix up with our reservation, which they apologized for. Property was clean and mostly quiet. Some of the other guests were quite noisy during the night, but that was only one night where we had this issue. All the instructions are in Italian, so be sure to have a translate...

"Struttura veramente bella noi abbiamo usufruito dell'alloggio in formula residence ,appartamento bello,curato nell'arredamento e pulitissimo. Posto dove poter trascorrere una piacevole vacanza nel relax ritrovando quiete e temperature freschissime . Di fronte alla struttura c'è l'hotel sempre gestito dagli stessi proprietari dove potersi appoggiare sia per la colazione che per il pranzo e la cena ma accanto ci sono altri 2 ristoranti con bar e tutto ciò di cui si ha bisogno. "Fantastic atmosphere and quality at dinner. A little more standard at breakfast. Poor English skills from the receptionist. She didn’t really understand that we had a problem in our room.(Our neighbor keep smoking in his bathroom, so our bathroom was also stinking of cigarettes) The pool area is very clean and nice to visit, but the traffic around is a little noisy."
