Cozy spot right off of the water. Great weekend get away. Was just enouvh for the two of us to enjoy. Great view of the ocean from the sliding window. Would have liked to see more if the hedges were trimmed down a little bit more.
We had an incredible time staying here! We came from Sacramento for a weekend birthday getaway and it truly felt like a nice relaxing mini vacation. We both felt at peace staying here and loved the ocean view in the morning and evenings. The room was clean, spacious, and comfortable. We didn’t want to leave! Definitely will be back!
This is a cabin type rental. Cabin is nice and comfortable and about 5 miles from the town of Mendocino where there is more going on. It was clean and comfortable but had to go to Mendocino for breakfast anyhow. But if you are looking for a restful night it is a nice place.
Good place for quiet time without people around.
Felt secure and enjoyed the quiet alone time.
They definitely have their procedures down and if you follow you’re going to have some good days.
Host was very accommodating despite our arrival well past midnight. Our room was ready and warm. The night temps in the are were close to freezing. Arriving to the warm room helped to rest well and be ready for a new day full of adventures.
Booked a last minute trip to Mendicino and found this charming inn. It's a few minutes south of Mendicino. I was initially worried it may be noisy being just off the freeway hit it was very quiet. The space was clean. Easy access to the town and surrounding attractions. Communication with staff made for easy check in procress. Would book again.
very comfortable room and QUIET property, which I loved. Beds were incredibly comfortable and I slept so good! My ONLY complaint, is that the fireplace cant be on for long before making the room feel like a sauna, and there is no way to turn town the flames. And the thermostat was a little hard to figure out how to manage the room temperature, even WITH the instructions provided. But not a huge deal. Other than that, I had a very comfortable stay. Will definitely come back.
We really liked the property and room and the owners were very helpful when we needed assistance. The only reason I’m not giving it an overall 5 stars is because instead of being charged half of the fee upon booking (like it stated we would be), we were charged the entire fee when we got there. That might not be a big deal for some, but for our young family it did complicate things a bit.
Our stay at this boutique hotel was exactly what we needed — quiet, relaxing, and full of small coastal charms. The property offers lovely sprinkled ocean views throughout, giving us just the right touch of seaside atmosphere without being right on the beach.
Self check-in was incredibly easy and made arrival stress-free. Everything was clear, and we felt welcomed even without onsite staff.
One of the biggest highlights for us was how dog-friendly the property is — our pup felt just as at home as we did! There was plenty of space to walk around and enjoy the fresh air.
The only part that was a miss was the fire pit — unfortunately, it wouldn’t light during our stay. It would have been a wonderful feature to enjoy in the evenings, but it didn’t take away from the overall peaceful experience.
If you’re looking for a peaceful, low-key stay with beautiful surroundings and a laid-back vibe, this is a wonderful choice. We’re already looking forward to coming back!
This is one of the cutest spots I’ve stayed. The Sunset room was charming and it had everything we needed for a short weekend getaway. The staff was super friendly and helpful.
Very enjoyable! It was a great place to relax and enjoy the sights with our fur baby before the holiday bustle. Spacious & cozy! Comfortable bed, yard area, patio, equipped kitchen and spacious bathroom with a soothing large jet tub. Lots of walking trails nearby and yummy places to eat. The coastal views were gorgeous!
Our private room was on a hill with an ocean view with a deck, table & chairs. Lovely grounds. Peaceful & quiet. Everything was spotless, bed was super comfy with high quality linens. We happened to meet the owner & innkeeper who were wonderful. Can't wait to return!
This was a cute small property right off the freeway. Overall a pleasant stay.
Pros: Fireplace, partial ocean view beyond the trees, outside deck, friendly and responsive staff.
Cons: No front desk, check in is a at a location off the property, noise from freeway drowns out the sound of the ocean waves.

Just too expensive for the size of room and location
Sliding screen door, which is the ONLY door, didn’t open/close and was held together with duct tape. Gas stove didn’t work, which scared us given carbon monoxide risks. Smoke alarm missing from enclosure. Musty smell. Some slight concern about linen cleanliness. There are no services at location or near enough to walk - bring what you need. That said, the manager was fairly responsive and did let us check in 3 hrs early. The grounds are nice enough.
