"Very nice anniversary stay with my wife. Fantastic property and good amenities.
Many many pros and just a few cons
Pros
1. Friendliest staff
2. Excellent dining. We HIGHLY recommend Aerie on the 16th floor of the Tower. Also, it’s an awesome touch that it is one of the few places that still has in room dining options.
3. Spa is Amazing!
4. Great indoor pool, sauna, hot tub, tennis court, and basketball court.
5. Comfy bed. We stayed in just a basic king room but it had a nice fridge, couch, and was a good 400 sq ft room. The bed was also VERY comfy.
6. Arcade room was a nice touch with some ax throwing.
Cons
1. Prices are a little higher than norm. Basic room price is equal to a mid tier room we would find at Amway in downtown Grand Rapids (4 star 4 diamond luxury hotel) and it is offseason now to boot, so the prices will only go higher in the months to come. Combined with $50 resort fee per day and it can be a little steep. Granted… you are paying for a lot more options/amenities, but be warned.
2. (This comment is true for any resort) There can be alot of kids here. Very annoying, especially if mommy and daddy are downstairs getting drunk and letting a bunch of 10 year olds run up and down the 6th floor knocking on doors and prompting a call to security from me. lol.
Overall- very very nice stay with pros that far outweigh the cons. Very solid 4 out of 5 stars, if not a little higher (ie 4.25 out of 5)."
"The hotel downstairs entry area, pool and hot tub are all nice. Staff was friendly and the shuttle was very convenient for getting to and from the casino. There is a nice fireplace downstairs with a TV and couches for relaxing. However, there is no restaurant on the premises and the bar area they have is closed. They said it didn't have enough use to keep it open. The continental breakfast is bad, serving the same egg beaters and sausage EVERY day and they weren't good. The rest of the breakfast with tiny yogurts, bad english muffins and a toaster that took forever and barely worked were all disappointing. How much does a new toaster cost, really? The breakfast ends at 10 AM but they don't even leave coffee out past that time. Also, disappointing.
It appeared they had no money to make improvements, which is hard to believe. The toilets sound like a jet engine when flushed and can be heard from all the surrounding rooms near your own. No way can your partner sleep through it, if you get up at night to use the bathroom. That needs to be fixed! Everything is geared around getting you to go to the casino for food, drinks and hopefully to get you to gamble. All of that, made it an ok but not great place to stay. Could be much better with a few improvements.
