Room with a View

The view is incredible and is the selling point of the stay. There is a ferry to Bellagio and there are good local places to eat.

We had a great experience staying at Villa Maria. It is such a beautiful property, well mantained, super clean and perfectly located walking distance to the ferry that goes to Bellagio and all the other incredible Villas in the area. The view from the balcony is impressive and peaceful. The Host Marco was very attentive and respectful. He recommended one of the best restaurants we tried in our trip. The property has parking which is very important since Bellagio is so popular that we try to do it with the car first and we could not find a parking spot so we leave but because stay later at Villa Maria we were able to go back to Bellagio and Villa Balbianelo (which by the way it was a Paradise) using the ferry which is literally like 10 mins walk super easy. We can recommend this place to all the people looking for a great experience at Lake Como.

The property is a lovely old house with a great view of the lake however, the property needed some upkeep (without loosing the character of course) and cleaning in my opinion (spiderwebs in the bedroom isnt really acceptable). The bathroom however was lovely and had clearly just been updated. The location also wasnt great as you have to drive into verenna to get the ferry. There is limited dining around the area and limited ferries from the area (they all return around 6pm which is too early). Whilst the location isnt something the hotel can change if course, i feel its important to mention as the previous reviews make it seem as though its easy to get around without a car. Further, dont be confused by the breakfast part of BnB; there was no breakfast offered.

Magnificent Maria Villa B&B!

They say Lierna is for travelers not tourists how true! From the very beginning we loved B&B in Maria villa! The home itself is a beautiful, stately manor. we were treated extremely well. We loved our room which looks over the lake especially the huge wooden sliding door that lets air in, but keep out bugs and sun sometimes when you don’t want it. The hosts and his family were wonderful. It’s such a reasonable place to stay and it’s like visiting old friends! It’s nice because you just come and go as you please and some time to see the hosts and his daughters or their lovely boxer, Zeus, but it’s not a big deal. The veranda is vast. And there’s a room beside you which is on the same veranda but it doesn’t matter it’s so huge you feel like you’re royalty! Looking over Lake Como every day it’s just magical! The shower I had a huge rain shower head and it was quite comfortable. We like the room because it stayed quiet And cool even during the hot midday sun. The fabulous host gave us great recommendations. One of them was a IL CROTTO-a restaurant, which is just a six or seven minute walk away. It was excellent! We ate there every night for six nights in a row, and it was an experience as far as dining in addition to the exquisite food. Wonderful stay can’t wait to come back!

Séjour idyllique.

Très beau séjour avec un hôte très serviable et à l’écoute de ses clients. De très bons conseils quant aux visites à faire tout autour du lac. Vue imprenable sur le lac. On peu tout faire soit par train soit par ferry, les deux tout près du B&B.

Lovely property in beautiful location. Clean and comfortable. It could be me, but the only thing I did not like was seeing the owner and his family including small children around at all times. I have stayed at other properties of this type where there is boundaries between the guests’ common areas and the owners’

Marco was great. We arrived a little late and he was quite accommodating. Our navigation and e-mail wasn't available while we were driving and we got a little lost and came late. He even accommodated our unexpected guest at no extra charge. Great breakfast with many homemade goods. Great view from the balcony but it is shared among the other rooms. Plenty of parking but up a steep curvy driveway and you really need to cut the corners closely. On the main street so it can be a little noisy. Walking distance to restaurants. My only complaint is that the bed was too hard.

Very happy with our stay

Wonderful hosts, beautiful view of the lake and breakfast setting was a fabulous surprise! Some rooms view the lake and other on garden side. Our room was full of old character furniture. The only negative was the early church bells.

Positives: Location 5-10 mins walk from station. Excellent lake view from room. Clean bathroom and lot of storage.Decent room size and good wifi strenth, excellent service from owner. Helped patiently with plan and helped to book cab to Varenna Negatives: Not so much. If you are coming with luggage's via public transport, you have to climb up the hill a bit to reach hotel.The owner might offer a ride, so you can make use of it. only downside is the bedding which seems dated and was making lot of squeaky noise. Not too many boat stops at Lierna.
