The lady at the front desk, who was brand new and left all alone, was the only member of the staff who actually tried to give customer service. I commend her for not walking out, honestly. My room had not been cleaned before we were assigned to it. Not ideal when arriving with children for a cheer competition, but fixable. No, they had no cleaning staff on site to clean while we went to dinner. Instead i was sent to another room across the hall, which was occupied! I go back to the desk, get ANOTHER room, that's ALSO OCCUPIED!! On the fourth try they got me in a room that was clean and not in use. I was not comfortable staying, but i didn't have another option. When i was finally able to speak to a manager the next morning, i got a list of excuses for all the insanity. The insult to the injury was that the whole reason we stayed there to begin with was for the pool and it was closed. I had checked the reviews and information ahead of time, it was not noted even though the signs on the doors were clearly not new. The manager did end up giving us a small discount for the trouble, which continued later in our stay, but initially tried to use us having booked through Expedia as a reason he wouldn't be able to do anything for us. The only redeeming part of that stay was having dinner at DJ's steakhouse bar and grill across the exit.
