If you are one of those people who look for fault in everywhere they stay the General Lewis Inn is not for you. Leave it for people who appreciate the crack in the walls, the creaky floor and the lack of mini fridge in the room. The Inn is 192 years old, built in 1834. It’s charming, quiet and a great location to downtown.

The "free" breakfast was 2 different kinds of muffins. If you wanted milk or juice you had to pay for it. The free bottle of water didnt taste very good. Beautiful place though.

Beautiful exterior. Poor parking, extremely narrow circle drive in front, no elevator (you have to lug suitcases up the stairs) in-house restaurant only open certain days, my fault for not looking closer but the absolute tiniest room we have ever had to stay in, toilet did not flush very well.

Beautiful Inn with the most attentive and welcoming staff. Truly a picturesque place to stay within walking distance of all the downtown restaurants and shops. We had both brunch and dinner at the inn a they were both phenomenal. Cocktails were equally amazing. Beds were a little firm which did not bother me, but did bother some in my group, however all said they would definitely come back and stay again. Many pros to this property and would highly recommend staying if you don’t mind a firmer mattress!

Two things I did NOT like were: 1. The bathroom was far too small and cramped. 2. The restaurant was not open during my stay. Are the rates higher on days their restaurant is open? Otherwise it was a very nice hotel with friendly, courteous staff.

Room and bathroom quite nice and clean. Staff was friendly and helpful. I wouldn’t I say breakfast is offered, as there were limited muffins and fruit. Bar and bartender made the trip as we were there midweek which limited our options for food, drink and downtown shopping. Beautiful area, we’ll be back.
