Brilliant staff

Room decoration a bit tired and water pressure low but really comfortable. Staff amazing, especially as my wife had dropped some tablets in the room which we didn’t realise until long after we’d checked out that the staff had saved them when we returned later

A clean comfortable room above a pub

A clean comfortable room. I didn't have dinner and it was nice to be able to have a drink in the bar. A noisy snorer in the next room kept me awake for a while but that can happen in a lot of hotels. To say it is next to a busy roundabout, with the windows shut it was fine. Continental Breakfast included in the room rate was good and adequate. I didn't need a Full English Breakfast (optional extra) as I knew I was going out for lunch.

The Blacksmiths is a great find and the family that run this establishment are very welcoming and were very obliging to the clientèle. I had a good quality breakfast. I would stay here again and recommend the Blacksmiths to others

Lovely staff and a nice pub. Road noise was quite bad for rooms overlooking the main road

The staff were very friendly and the breakfast was good. However the room was poor - noisy from other guests and the road outside plus the shower was old and some of the walls and ceiling unfinished from painting.

A useful base

Fairly basic accommodation but fine for what we needed. Pleasant hosts. Hotel a little further from Lewes than we expected. Beds comfy but room decor a little tired and bathroom especially needed some TLC. Continental breakfast fine - nice coffee. Extra charge for cooked.
