"Very happy with my stay. Room was comfortable, a good size, clean and very quiet, and in a great location. Breakfast buffet had a great selection and plenty available. The staff were extremely helpful and friendly. The only minor downside was that the room was rather warm (I was on the top floor) and the air conditioning wasn't working due to renovations currently taking place. A fan was provided, but leaving the windows open was not ideal due to noise outside. Hopefully this will be rectified soon."
Grand Hotel de la Gare

"I had a comfortable and enjoyable stay at the Grand Hotel de la Gare. My check in experience with my bicycle was wonderful as the staff were so helpful, including providing secure parking for my bike at the station opposite. The hotel location is great for the station and it is an easy walk to the central part of the city where there are lots of restaurant opportunities. The rooms are quite basic - no kettle for example but was comfortable enough for an overnight stay. The breakfast was fine but had quite a limited range of options. "

"Excellent location with free parking right in the centre of Angers. Very nice buffer breakfast with lots of choice. Staff very helpful and friendly. No air com, fan wasnt very powerful but managed to sleep ok. Very good value for the price"

"Fantastic guest experience from arrival to departure. Location close to the autoroute. Plenty of free onsite parking. A very warm welcome from Margaret who was so helpful and kind throughout our stay. Breakfast buffet was plentiful and tasty. Very clean and comfortable bedroom with good amenities. We used the pool. Could t rate the place and the team any higher. Thank you."

"We neglected to get parking instructions, so we parked on the street and had to drag our luggage a couple of blocks. Ask for the name of the underground parking almost right at their door. I can't recall the name of the front desk guy, but he was the most delightful Indian young man. He saw us coming across the square, with me pushing a walker, so he ran down the stairs and carried our luggage up the stairs while my husband helped me up. He was the most caring, outgoing front desk person I've ever had the pleasure of dealing with. He spoke English with his lovely accent, apologizing for how rusty his English was. We were given two complimentary mocktails in the lovely bar they have, and met a bartender as charming at the front desk guy. Again, forgot his name, but he was Argentinian and spoke good English as wel. I loved the dark paint and wallpaper - very calming. In spite of being right in the middle of the action, our room was blessed silent. The tram station is right out front so you can just park your car and forget about it. We ate at the Brasserie du Ralliement occupying a grand old theatre just a few steps down from the hotel."
