Who wouldn't want to take the "sky buckets" to a pet-friendly mountaintop hotel and restaurant? The staff were outgoing and responsive, the restaurant dinner food was outstanding, the included breakfast buffet was lovely, and the views from my room were out of this world (with paragliders and hang gliders darting past). Highly recommended!

Toppenställe på en bergstopp. Enda vägen upp är med en linbana - fantastisk åktur, lite läskig. På hotel.com stod att frukost ingick, och stor frukostbuffet men detta stämde dessvärre inte alls. I detas system hade vi endast rummet. Vi fick dock frukosten ändå då vi kunde visa vad det stod på vår bokning. Det kändes dock inte bra att tjata.. Någon stor buffet var det inte. Toast, kaffe, frukt, juicer men inget bröd eller småvarmt. Personalen var dock väldigt rar och trevlig.

Hotel i højderne

Funivie Del Lago Maggiore er egentlig en svævebane til et udsigtspunkt 1000 m over Lago Maggiore. Bjergstationen er udbygget så den omfatter en fin restaurant, en bar, en cafe og udenomsplads med legepladser, bålpladser og startsted for drageflyvere. Og så altså et mindre hotel på bygningens overetage. Udsigten deroppefra er formidabel. Næsten hele søen, masser af omgivende byer, øerne i søen og sågar i det fjerne Milanos lufthavn. Og så Alperne mod vest og nord. Ulempen men også det uforglemmelige er vejen derop: Man kan kun komme derop med svævebanen. I gondolerne kan der være 2 små personer. De minder om runde skraldespande, hvor man står op hele vejen. Bagagen sendes op samtidig med gæsterne i næste gondol. Turen tager 15-20 min. Man skal løse liftkort. Det koster 12 EUR for et 3-dages-kort. Liften åbner kl. 10 og lukker 21.30. En af vore aftener lukkede den dog tidligere p.g.a. vind. Hotellet ringede til os og gav besked herom, så vi kom akkurat op som de sidste den dag.

Parfait !

Le séjour commence de manière insolite avec une (longue) montée en télécabine. On profite de la vue tout au long du parcours. Veillez juste à ne rien oublier dans la voiture avant de monter ! Nous avons été accueillis par la très sympathique Paola (qui parle français !). La chambre était parfaite, avec de l'espace et une vue à couper le souffle depuis la terrasse. On voit une bonne partie de la rive occidentale du lac majeur, avec notamment les îles Boromée et les montagnes derrière. Le coucher de soleil est une expérience ! Les nombreux parapentes nous survolant étaient quelque chose de magique. Le dîner et le petit-déjeuner étaient également très bien, et le personnel adorable. Nous reviendrons !

This hotel is perched all on its own at the top of a mountain and is accessible by a 'bucket lift' only. It was so unusual and the views from our room were spectacular. We even had a hang glider come fly right up to our room's terrace who gave us a smile and a wave. We had a lovely dinner on the restaurant's terrace overlooking the lake and so much more with an absolutely amazing sunset. We were there for only one night and did not want to leave. If you want a something different, special, romantic etc etc, then you must stay here.

Annorlunda hotel med utmaning och utsikt!

Den första och största chocken kom när vi insåg att man måste åka med en väldigt gammal och liten linban upp till toppen av ett 1060 meter högt berg där hotellet ligger beläget...det stod intet om det I beskrivningen. Men när man väl kommer upp så är det ett väldigt intressant och speciellt hotel med fantastisk utsikt, en restaurang med bra mat och frukost med utsikt over Magiorresjön.

Servizi bassa qualità. Camera con luce scarsa. Acqua calda con boiler 50 litri mia moglie ha fatto la doccia con 40 litri e a me mi sono rimasti 10 litri!! E ho finito la doccia con l'acqua fredda... e la proprietaria voleva farci pagare la colazione che era inclusa... Non ho parole.. l'unica cosa... la bella vista dal balcone..

Quirky hotel

We are an older couple who like to find quirky places to stay. This fit the bill. The only way to get to the hotel on top of a mountain overlooking Lago Maggiore was to have a 20 minute ride being pulled up in a bucket! The ride was special with a fabulous view of the lake and mountains. The hotel is old and tired and needs a good clean up of things they no longer need such as the torn flag decorations outside. Our suitcases came up,the mountain in a bucket also and to reach reception we had to drag them down 2 flights of stairs with no offer of help. On our departure I knew it would be very difficult to get our suitcases up 2 flights of stairs to the funivia so I asked for help.Bingo! They have a service elevator for goods direct from reception to the funivia. Why could they not have offered this to us before? We had dinner in the hotel restaurant one night. The service, food and view were good but why have a noisy karaoke during the meal? There is no kettle in the room but they gave me cups and a pot of hot water when I asked The manager and staff were pleasant

Nuitée en altitude

Etape en famille ou l'hôtel est situé a 1000 mètres d'altitude et l'accessibilité ce fait en funiculaire ( tarif non compris dans le prix de la nuitée et compter 20 minutes de montée) attention a ceux qui ont le vertige. Personnel très gentils, chambre un peu vieillot malgré les quelques efforts de modernisation de l'hôtelier. Nuitée a faire.
