"We had a good stay overall, with a few things worth noting. The staff were excellent. Petros handled a leak in our room brilliantly and upgraded us to a suite while it was fixed. The bar staff were also very attentive and friendly. The main downside was the spa setup. For a hotel marketed as a 5* hotel and spa, it was disappointing that all facilities come at an extra cost. The sauna and jacuzzi require a private booking (30 minutes, €25–30 per person). The jacuzzi was also only lukewarm and only seemed to heat up towards the end, which goes very quickly. It was also a shame the indoor spa pool was closed. I understand this is no longer advertised, but it would have made a big difference, especially in bad weather. That said, the massages were excellent and worth the €50–60 per person. The hotel is a mix of old and new. The older side shows wear, with stains on couches and cushions, but the beds were comfortable and housekeeping was great. The suite was lovely. I would recommend paying extra for newer rooms in the spa building. Breakfast had nice touches like local honey, also given as a check-out gift, but vegetarian options were limited. Indoor seating can be tight in colder months. Overall, great service but not quite a 5* spa experience."

"Excellent location and very nice hotel! Breakfast superbly prepared for each guest, instead of a buffet. Amazing rooftop views and you even see snow capped mountains nearby. Only drawback is parking and scented hallways and carpets. Yet, valet parking was free. Heated pool and sauna are a luxurious touch. Staff is very accommodating, cheerful and always happy to help! Will stay there again!!! Kudos to a wonderful staff, efcharisto Manolis!!! "

"Hotel staff was great! Always willing to help and guide us on what to do, where to go and also brought a lot of experience on what would make our experience better. They go out of their way to accommodate and help. Breakfast was delicious and one of the best I’ve had and it by itself was a great experience. Room and hotel made the whole stay in chania perfect, as it feels you are staying in part of history with all the amenities and it is a well kept property."
