Extremely Disappointing Experience – Construction, Parking Issues, and Poor Service
I have been a loyal Expedia customer for 20 years, but my recent experience at this property was so frustrating that I am seriously reconsidering ever booking with Expedia again.
Shortly after booking, I received an email from the property warning of construction noise and parking disruptions. I immediately tried to cancel through Expedia, but was told (through repeated errors) that I wouldn't be refunded and that I should contact the property instead. The property, in turn, said only Expedia could help. This started a days-long ordeal of back-and-forth with both Expedia and the property, including multiple calls, endless holds, and bounced-around responsibility. One Expedia agent promised the offshore team would resolve it the next morning, then I received no further communication and had to call back several times. Each time, I was told someone else was handling it and I’d need to wait even longer, by which point booking another property would have been impossible.
After escalating the case, both Expedia and the property denied there was any construction or parking issue, despite the warning I’d received in writing. To “make up for it,” the property offered free guest parking – but when I arrived, there was no free parking available and the staff denied ever making such an offer. The reception staff themselves were unable to direct me to alternative parking options.
