Perfect stopover with secure parking

Our favourite place to stop when heading into France. Only two hours eurotunnel or ferries at Calais. Secure parking (gated) is the main reason we first stayed and now we appreciate the 24hr front desk when arriving late after travel delays. Our 4th year staying here and the service is always helpful and pleasant. Rooms are always very clean and comfortable. Breakfast has just what you need, eggs and bacon, plus several breads, yogurt and cereals. Petrol and large Cassino supermarket 4 mins away also.

Good, standard hotel

Friendly helpful welcome. Good sized, clean room. Comfortable bed. Sensible bedding for the weather. Good shower. Small restaurant menu but meal was fine. Breakfast ditto.

Get what you pay for, a bed and bathroom. TV remote didn’t work, bedside light didn’t work, incredibly noisy 24/7 if at front. Adequate overnight stop but would use St Quinten or Arras in future as so much better. Laon is a beautiful medieval city.

For an Ibis this was poor

Lift not working fortunately we only had to carry our luggage up to the first floor. Limited restaurant, could only cater for 5 tables with a very limited menu.Foam top to mattress made it too warm. No power points in room just 1 in the bathroom.

Hotel was clearly under renovation. The room we were allocated still had builder’s equipment in the room. We complained and were given an alternative room. However the bath room looked tired and work was not completed in the bedroom (a loop of wires was hanging from the ceiling and we found a screw lying on the floor by the bed which could have been hazardous for bare feet). On arrival cables were trailing across the reception causing a trip hazard. However the staff were excellent and the food in the evening and at breakfast was good.

Overnight at the Laon

Sadly we were not offered a warm welcome. We were made to feel we were a big inconvenience. The receptionist was eating a meal and did not want to be disturbed. Apparently she told me she was coming but I thought she was talking to her coworker and didn’t hear her anyway. She told me she was looking straight at me so of course she was addressing me! She told us the manager made her do her receptionist duties even when she was trying to eat a meal. Sadly, a negative start to our stay so we chose not to stay and have drink at the bar for fear of inconveniencing her further and getting told off again. No the welcome we expected at all.

Hôtel 3 étoiles ??? Je me demande pourquoi 3 étoiles !! Petit déjeuner très basique.. pas vraiment de choix.. La salle de bain est dégradée !! Robinetterie toute rouillée ! Pas de tapis de bain, pas de petite poubelle dans la chambre..

Hotel Ibis de Laon, ainsi que tout le personnel accueillant et disponible à tout moment. Tout était parfait, propreté de la chambre, petit déjeuner copieux, déjeuner et diner ok, nous avons passés 5 nuits dans un excellent confort. Un grand (Merci) à tout le personnel très professionnel travaillant main dans la main. Cadre agréable, et grand parking gratuit disponible.
