Check-in and check-out was a breeze. The cabins are clean, the kitchen is stocked, and the cabin was cozy. My family of 4 (kids ages 7 and 9) enjoyed our stay and we’re very likely to book there again!

I really appreciated the manager staying up late for us to arrive. The wintry weather closed the roads into Big Bear, and we inched ourselves into the area. Once there he showed me our cabin, and showed how to set the room temperature. The rustic cabin for 2 was small, but was clean and well appointed with what was necessary. Had plenty of hot water, heat, and the kitchen worked. Plenty of clean towels, with the small bathroom recently updated. I would come here again.

Would definitely book here again. The cabins were clean and adorable, service was friendly, and we slept comfortably. Our only regret is as that we couldn’t stay longer!

The property itself looks a little rundown from the outside but the inside looks well kept and the bathroom had been recently remodeled. Overall it was very nice.

Property Caretaker was onsite and always available and accommodating. He brought extra towels, TP, and more within minutes of a request.

Happy Traveler

These are older cabins with a rustic appeal. Nothing fancy, small apartment size stove and refrigerator, mismatched plates and glasses but all the cooking utensils and pots are there. We are not there much in the day so we basically used it as an upgrade from a hotel so we could do light cooking and have the convenience of a kitchenette. They have a coffee pot but no iron or ironing board. We had to buy one and left it with our friends we were visiting so we can used it next year when we return. The area is save and very convenient to the village shops and restaurants.

We have stayed here several times before and this time we were in cabin 2. Apparently someone left have burnt wood in the fireplace and everything smelled like smoke. There was a residue of smoke up the front of the fireplace that added to the smell. There were ants in the bathroom and the stove oven had no interior rack. We were transferred to a different cabin and the manager was very nice about it. This one had 2 bathrooms that was a bonus but the shower in one of them was broken. The light fixture in the closet had no light bulb so we bought one and put it in, but the fixture was broken so the pull chain didn't work. The paper towel holder was broken and the coat holder pulled out of the wall. We fixed the coat holder but the local department store was out of towel holders. The manager made sure the cabin was sprayed before we moved over to it so no ant problems. We like staying on the grounds here as it is so close to the village and there is a fire-pit that is nice to gather around with the other people who are renting cabins there. In all the years we have stayed there this is the first time we have had a problem. The manager is very accommodating. There are some things that could be reviewed before renting a unit, such as we experienced with the first cabin, but we will be staying there again, this was just out of the ordinary.

Great price, more than adequate amenities

I have very little to complain about Lakewood Cabins. The cabin was exactly what I expected and needed. Air conditioning would have been nice, but given how the temperature in the area dropped at night, even that wasn't necessary. There was free WiFi and the bed was totally adequate. If you prefer fluffy pillows, I suppose you might want to bring your own. Otherwise, given how reasonable the price was, I would stay there again in a heartbeat. It's like having your own little house - and it's in walking distance of everything. I was very pleased with my stay.

Very Enjoyable Stay!

Great little cabins! Property Manager met us in the parking area before we got out of our car. He then showed us around the cabin, gave us the wifi password. The refrigerator had two bags of ice; the cabinets had a selection of coffee cups, glasses, pots, pans and cutlery. The bathroom was very clean, modern...and the shower - best water pressure of any hotel I've ever stayed in! We used the grill to cook, and the property manager helped us light the gas fire pit. The bed was very firm with good sheets, pillows and a comforter.
