The Forest Suites is in a Great Location. You can walk, in ski boots, to the Gondola in less than fuve minutes. The daily breakfast, which is included in the resort fee, is pretty good with Real scrambled eggs with sausage/bacon, hash browns, etc.

The suites had plenty of room and storage space and was very welcoming to us and our puppy. Our 7 year old son liked the kid friendly channel options and the kitchen had all the tools needed to cook meals during our stay. The location was perfect! Right across the street from the Heavenly Village on one side and the Van Sickle Bi-State Park on the other side. We got to easily enjoy hikes in the park, then stroll through shops and eat at restaurants in the village. Although it's across from the Heavenly Village, we didn't hear any noise from it. We also loved that they had an enclosed designated pet area, which our dog could run freely in. Prior to our stay, they sent very helpful resources for nearby activities, shops, dog friendly restaurants, and dog day care options. The staff here are amazingly welcoming, helpful and informative. Do not expect it to be an updated or modern hotel, but it's great at giving a lodge feel in Tahoe, with lots of space without costing an arm and a leg. I would recommend this place to others and will likely stay here for future family trips.

Forest Suites is a beautiful and cozy stay in the South Lake Tahoe area. What really made our experience great here was the hospitality and friendliness of the staff. They were extremely helpful and engaged throughout our entire stay. Only downside was some of the room appliances could be updated but they had everything we needed. We would definitely come back if we make our way back to Heavenly Village.
