The King studio room was big and lovely. The bed was comfortable and we had a microwave, fridge, and coffee maker. The hotel restaurant was having staffing issues and for a couple days we avoided breakfast there because of that. Thankfully there are a couple good alternatives in walking distance.
Hotel Saranac is perfectly located for a weekend in the Adirondacks, in the heart of Saranac Lake for easy walking to restaurants, a short bike ride to the Rail Trail, and a reasonable drive to great hiking and outdoor opportunities. It’s a great historic hotel with lots of character and an amazing bar and lounge area, with great views of town and the mountains. Parking is plentiful and free. The staff is super friendly and accommodating. It is accessible and user friendly for guests that have mobility challenges.
Night and day as opposed to a similar hotel in Lake Placid. Clean, bright, clear tap water and an excellent restaurant with 2 bars, one of them a stately inside-outside combination with views and tons of room. I visit Saranac Lake for work and will be staying here again.
Beautiful historic building with a friendly staff and a beautiful bar area. The room and bathroom are on the small side but still comfortable and clean. Would definitely stay again.
Lovely restored hotel. Staff was lovely, everything was spotlessly clean. The rooms are very, very small for the cost. The bathroom is so small the door won't open all the way. Also, as noted in a prior review, there is no sound deadening in this place. I was on the third floor and could hear the live band as if they were performing in my closet. Thankfully, they wrapped up by 10:30 pm so it didn't interrupt my sleep. But it did drown out the television.
We took some time to absorb the atmosphere of this place while staying 3 nights for the XC World Cup. The Grand Ballroom with its Speakeasy bar and analog games, the fitness room… We loved it, and the restaurant dinners were also excellent and memorable.
The staff was friendly and helpful for the check in process. I was able to check in early and the staff was very approachable. The parking garage was spacious and easy to get to. Lastly, the bar on the second floor was classy, the drinks were great and they had live music. Overall, the property was very nice.
Drinks at the upstairs bar were wonderful. The whole hotel has undergone a huge transformation. We had dinner in the restaurant was also very pleasant. Big shout out to all the staff-from our check in to our happy hour and dinner all were very friendly and accommodating.
This hotel is worth every dollar!
Wonderful, friendly staff with lots of ideas for what to do in the area.
Room was spotless with good bed and solid shower.
Recommend the terrace for sunset and watching the lights come on in town. It's a short walk to shopping and a riverside brewery.
The upstairs bar has creative cocktails and there's a historic great hall to settle in if it's too cool for the terrace.
We added the breakfast included option and had 3 options on the menu. Pancakes are huge and filling! Get the fresh blueberries.
Lots of history on pictures around property. Great gift shop. Parking garage with covered level and entry to hotel.
So many outdoor activities to enjoy including access to the cycling rail trail. We saw many bikes.
It's like Lake Placid without the parking nightmare.
