"The only issue is trying to bring luggage into the hotel. The front desk is up stairs, no elevator. However, this location is fabulous. Would certainly come again."

"Overall, I enjoyed the stay in the hotel. The room was clean and well equipped. The staff was friendly and helpful. Breakfast was good. Public transportation is nearby. I did not appreciate that an account has to be created to use the WLAN in the hotel. Also, the TV set was not properly set up. The list of channels was outdated (i.e., some channels weren't working at all) and the reception bad (image loosing quality/getting stuck, audio getting interrupted)."

"It is a decent hotel. Very close to the train station. It is an old building and a little worn as a result. But clean and staff is friendly. It is a basic simple hotel. Fun decorations in the staircase."

"It was a nice hotel right across from train station. So location was great if you’re traveling by train. Nice walk to the lake. Town was interesting to walk around and see all the old buildings."
The Freddie Mercury Hotel

"As a fan of Freddie, a stay at The Freddie Mercury when in Montreux is a must. It's campy, and fun and you can't not smile in the public areas. As a rather fussy hotel guest, I had no real issues. There isn't air conditioning, but there is some air circulation. The rooms are basic, but how much time do you plan on spending in there? The bed is super comfortable, the breakfast is reasonable for the price (on demand omelettes and lots of variety). It was clean enough, though there is some wear starting to show. The staff was very helpful. Most of all, the location is amazing and on the train station platform (you can hear the trains from your room if you're on that side, but it's a soft/gentle woosh every now and then). I'm so glad I stayed there. Thank you!"

"Stayed here as was diverted from Zurich. Got in very late. Staff at desk was helpful. Got to room. Looked dated and in need of renovating. Carpet looked stained. Turned down bed and there was a stain on the sheet. It had been washed but was still stained right at the head of the bed. Shouldn't use sheets like that. Pillows smelled of other people's heads. Bathroom nice but cracked tiles on floor and in shower. Tiles on bathroom wall and floor grouting had mold. For a hotel of this quality and price I expect a lot better."
