巴塔塔海灘

巴塔塔海灘 呈现出 一般的海岸景觀, 濱海小鎮 和 海灘
Explore the grottoes and crevasses, go for a refreshing swim in the calm water and relax in a bar after sunset.

In the shadow of Bandeira Fort lies Batata Beach, the main urban stretch of sand in Lagos. The busy strand, which is backed by many shops, bars and restaurants, is lapped by calm water that provides ideal family beach conditions. Bring your kids to frolic around the rocks and caves of this lively beach.

Rent a deck chair to sunbathe on this pretty strand, which is sheltered from the wind. Beachcomb the stretch of sand with your children in search of shells and other marine trinkets. Capture photos of the impressive 17th-century Bandeira Fort at the northern end of the beach. In the fortress a museum holds a collection of metal weather vanes and other items. Watch a film about the structure’s restoration project and inspect old photos of the town.

Walk out along the long stony pier that runs from the center of the beach to enjoy views of the Lagos coastline, including the nearby harbor and the mountains in the distance. Go to the Lagos Sailing Club, which has regattas in the water. Watch or participate in volleyball and handball competitions often held on the beach. You can also rent kayaks to take out on the ocean.

Take a refreshing swim in the cool, transparent water of the Atlantic Ocean to counter the heat on hot afternoons. The beach is fairly small and can get crowded on summer weekends. Arrive early to watch the sunrise from a deck chair and avoid the crowds. Stay until sunset to see the colorful tableau of the sky’s darkening hues and move to a beach bar after dark. Access this public beach for free. It is open at all times.

Batata Beach stands at the side of the main coastal avenue on the eastern flank of Lagos. Walk to the beach from the historic center in about 10 minutes. See some of the nearby highlights, including the Edge of the Port, Constitution Garden and Santo António Church.
