Would recommend to others

The location, gardens and pool were great. It was bit odd that one had to use the lift or go through the dining hall to go the first floor. Breakfast was good. Meals were expensive and I wouldn't buy anything from the poolside kiosk / bar.

Das Personal war sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit. Die Dusche war etwas hart eingestellt - der Strahl tat einen auf der Haut fast weh. Die Einrichtung natürlich nicht so wie in einem 4 Sterne Stadthotel, aber akzeptabel. Schöne Terrasse und Poolbereich. Die Hotelkatze mag Streiheleinheiten zum Frühstück und wenn man nicht aufpasst wird das Croissant von den Möwen geklaut. Schönes liebenswertes Hotel !

Realistic Review

Right from the outset, there is nothing at all wrong with this hotel. I'd say it's bedrooms (although clean, functional and comfortable enough) were more befitting of a 3 star status. The hotel grounds with its lovely luscious gardens, and the pool overlooking the beach from the cliff, would be a 5 star. All staff are friendly enough, and clientele at this hotel is good (seems to have a lot of repeat visitors which is good in itself). Breakfast is good; the fruit is amazing, and there is plenty of breads, yogurts, juices, etc and they do try to rotate the cooked food. If you can get a room looking out on to the pool I think this would be preferential as your terrace looks out onto the gardens/ pool and the sea beyond that. We got a room at the back of the hotel and never sat out once on our terrace as it was a bit of an eyesore to be honest, so always went round to the pool. The rooms looking out on the pool don't get the sun after about 2pm anyway. Its a short walk into town, yet far enough away for peace and quiet and the shutters/ curtains ensure a good nights, undisturbed rest. Lastly, don't let them kid you that there gym is anyway decent at all. Unless you're caught in a timewarp and like the multi-gyms that were used in the 80s! A good hotel to go and relax, don't expect rooms that are too luxurious but have everything you need, and it is good value for money, and I see no reason why you wouldn't enjoy a stay here.

Disappointing

Having stayed there several times before, this was a huge disappointment. Most of the hotel was closed, no evening meal and breakfast less than satisfactory. What a shame for a hotel that has provided a brilliant holiday in the past. Guests should have been warned in advance
