Great location in La Rochelle

Right by the harbour in La Rochelle. Great for trying a range of bars and restaurants. Lovely hotel with great staff who are extremely helpful. Hotel has a lovely pool area, quite unusual for the centre of La Rochelle. Hotel has a section of a nearby car park which is very secure. You'll need to check in at the hotel before accessing the parking, we would have appreciated that information beforehand. Would definitely stay there again when in La Rochelle.

My second stay at this hotel (Yachtman) and they always outdo themselves. The rooms are fabulous and super clean. Their cleaning ladies are always helpful and respectful of our privacy, accepting to assist but not enter. The establishment is dog friendly and right on the docks- absolutely fantastic

Lovely hotel in La Rochelle

The hotel is in a beautiful location overlooking the port. The bedrooms are excellent, very clean and comfortable and have everything you need. The breakfast is really great, it has pure orange juice, hot and cold food and plenty of room. The room that the breakfast is held in needs serious updating. The carpets and walls are all stained and there is a odd small there. The pool is lovely on a hot day but there are not enough sun beds which didn't affect us as the weather was not good enough to sit out at.

Loved the hotel, perfect location and nice room. The hotel has some renovation work going on otherwise I would rate it very highly. Staff are really very nice. There are only two negatives - it is a little bit complicated to park in their car park but ok when you know how, and I would have preferred to have real cups and glasses in the room rather than flimsy paper ones which were too hot to hold to drink the coffee. Located in the harbour, walking distance around the town centre.

The location is excellent, the staff are lovely people and made this a lovely place to stay. When travelling for pleasure on holidays genuinely nice people at reception make such a difference to your experience. I’d highly recommend.

Should have been closed whilst renovation hotel.

Thé hôtel will be beautiful once the renovation work has finished. Health and safety we an issue with power tool wires across the main corridor. Building work started at 8 am and went on all day. The lounge and the swimming pool were out of bounds. We managed you use the swimming pool towards the end of the stay, but if was difficult to get out without any steps.The fridge in the room hadn’t been emptied and they was smelly cold fish and chips inside when we arrived. The staff were very helpful in trying to refund us and try to find us another hotel but last minute hotel accommodation not easy to find at short notice. In the end we decided we had no option but to stay. We did receive free breakfasts and complimentary wine to compensate for the inconvenience.

Great location for old harbour

We booked the junior suite and it was very comfortable and roomy. Was not expecting to see individual plastic toiletries which were fairly basic- no shower cap. Was expecting glasses for drinking instead of paper cups. Glasses were provided upon request. Plugs in sinks not working and reported. Shame there was no tea/ coffee provided in room as with other French hotels. Staff were excellent and really helpful in all areas of our stay. Perfect location for the old harbour.

Great location.

A great location to stay in La Rochelle, right on the harbour. A little confusing getting to the hotel through the barrier’s but if you ring the hotel they will lower them for you, there is a height restriction of 1.95 for the secure parking. We stayed in a Discovey Room Poolside and looked over the pool, it was very quiet at night. We felt it lacked in atmosphere but no one stayed in the hotel bar due to the choice in the area. Great choice at breakfast and very helpful staff.

Great location on the harbour. The pool is a welcome relief from the heat. Staff are friendly. The only negative which impacts the scores is the air conditioning in our room was broken which made nights swelteringly hot.

A wonderful hotel, in the perfect location for the marina and the old town. Staff were exceptionally helpful and friendly and the hotel is in excellent condition. The pool is also a great option

Unfortunately not 4 star accommodation

The hotel is located in a beautiful city/ port, unfortunately nowhere on the information available does it state it is virtually impossible to drive to, due to the location is pedestrian only. Having tried for over an hour driving round and round, the satnav trying to take us down bus lanes etc. We eventually parked and walked to check in. I mentioned the problem to the staff at reception as we were aware parking was available. We were hoping to get some assistance in finding the car park, we received a shake of the head and told, yes it is difficult and our car park is fully booked tonight. My partner said she thought we had booked it, the male handed us a key fob to get into the car park available to the hotel. We walked back to our car, drove to the car park and the fob would not let us in as the message displayed was ‘out of service’. We then had to navigate our way back to the previous car park from where we had recently left. Once parked we unloaded our cases and walked again to the hotel. Having told the male on reception the key fob wouldn’t work when handing it back we received another shake of his head. On checking out this morning, he also tried to charge car parking our room. One plus for the bed, as it was comfortable, the hotel decor is tired and the carpet tiles in the breakfast area, had patches where it looked like something awful had been spilled or sprayed on, surely an attempt to clean them was possible or change them. Rather disappointing stay, not 4 🌟
