An affordable aparthotel

We had a lovely stay at A La Maison - the staff were really accommodation with our late arrival of 10pm and made sure someone was there for our arrival. However our overall stay could have been slightly better; for starters the property was not as listed (we had 2 double beds rather than 1 double bed and 2 twins) - this was not a massive problem as we are friends and didn't mind sharing, however one of the double beds had broken slats on the right hand side which meant we were sleeping on a slope for the three nights we were there! The water pressure in the apartment was also terrible - at times there was no water whatsoever in the shower - we'd often leave the taps on and 5-10 minutes later hear the water begin to trickle.

Great location near te Main Square. Beautiful room with lots of space and very clean. Loved the desk and chair, all the television stations, breakfast and comfortable bed. Highly recommend this splendid place!

非常にいいホテルだと思います。・ロケーション高級住宅街にあり、治安は比較的安全 (ボリビア全体と比べると)です。中心街から少し離れているものの、深夜帯に予定がなければ、早めの帰宅を心がければ問題なし・従業員とても良い拙い英語でも親切に聞き取ってくれました。かつ、フレンドリーで、スタッフがイケメンでした。笑飛行機が早かったため帰りの空港までのタクシーもホテル前まで呼んでくれました、(ボッタクは一切なかったですよ！) ・部屋南米旅行で6.7つのホテルに泊まりましたが一番オシャレでした。ホテルというには、あまりにも広く快適。窓から見える夜景は格別でした。インテリアも非常によく、夜に出歩けないボリビアでは、スーパーで買って部屋で楽しむのもありかと、、。その他クレジットカードが使えない、英語が伝わらない、従業員の態度が悪いなど記載がありましたがかなり改善されているようです。ボリビアでどこに泊まると聞かれても、ここにもう一度泊まりたいと答えるでしょう。最高のホテル！

Perfect stay

Very nice staff! Clean and spacious rooms and very comfortable. Big bathroom and your own kitchen. Only minor negative thing is the distance but that's no problem.

閑静な住宅街のホテル

トランジットの際、1日ラパスに宿泊しないといけなくなり利用させて頂きました。部屋にはお茶が沢山準備されていて、自由に飲むことが出来て良かったです。（コカ茶もあります）朝６時の飛行機だった為、フロントにタクシーをお願いしましたが、時間通り手配されていて大変助かりました。

Zona tranquila, a 1 bloque del teleferico amarillo

Decoracion rustica, limpio, la calefaccion no es suficiente, atencion cordial, desayuno pobre, cerca del teleferico amarillo, zona tranquila y residencial. Es bonito y diferente!!

No reception and nobody was there！

I arrived at 10am and nobody was at the reception. We were waiting outside for 1 hour and no one answers the door bell either. We had to make another hotel reservation walking around which really *** us off.

Stayed 5 nights. Good safe location in La Paz. Can walk to downtown easy enough. Plenty of good restaurants and bars within a few blocks and only 100m to teleferico. Cant go wrong really.

Trip was half work related and half vacation. Great price, great service. Close to taxi stop and to cable car (public transportation). Near supermarket and pharmacy. 15-20 minute walk to area with good restaurants. If you plan to sleep in, the area can get a bit noisy during the day due to construction.

Worn Out Hotel with Helpful Day Staff

My wife and I arrived at 7:00AM by bus from Salar de Uyuni. There was nowhere to go except to the hotel. We did not expect to be let into the room. But, neither did we expect to be left without a seat, while standing in the cold (12C) entrance for 50 minutes while the night manager laughed and joked with a fellow employee. When the day manager arrived, I mentioned that we did not expect a drink. But, it would have been nice if the night manager had offered my wife a seat in the hall. He apologized and let us into an open room at 8:30AM; well before check in. This was a nice gesture that was appreciated. However, service aside, the room had a very strong petroleum odour of wood floor polish, the bathroom smelled of mold, and the drains smelled of the local sewer. Overall, the room was dated looking with wooden crates for side tables, see-through burlap curtains, chipped paint, and other obvious wear and tear. The closest restaurants are five blocks down hill. Going down hill is not a problem. But, at 4,000 meters, going back up to the hotel may be a challenge for some. The hotel day manager helped us resolve a restaurant bill. That was very much appreciated. Please note that it is possible that other rooms are cleaner and of better quality. But, based upon our experience, I would not recommend this hotel.

Excellent boutique hotel in the heart of the city

This is an excellent boutique hotel in the heart of La Paz - Sopocachi. Every room is in fact a pretty large appartment with a nice, trendy European boutique design. The owner os very knowledgeable and accomodating. The hotel is within walking distance to all main attractions and restaurants. The teleferic station is less than 5 min walk. The hotel is safe, clean and quiet. I totally reccommend it.

Comfortable and peaceful studio!

Very comfortable studio, perfect for a couple. They leave things from breakfast in your fridge, so you have full flexibility. Very friendly staff, and good location near a Teleferico station. Shops nearby and good restaurants only 20 mins walk (or 10 mins cab). Incredibly clean too!

Nice concept, dishonest staff

I was pleasantly surprised by the size of the room and its cleanliness as well as the fact that cereal, fruit and other things were thoughtfully left out. I really, really wanted to write a great review. But on checking out, the person at reception quoted me a price that was 25% higher than Expedia's online rate, which I'd booked. When I challenged her, she gave me yet another price in dollars and claimed that the difference was "because of extra taxes." After a couple more minutes of conversation and some more price fluctuations - each time I asked another question, the number I owed changed - I put payment on the table and left. I knew she was lying because she also gave me an inflated rate for the taxi to the airport. Come on, I might be foreign but I'm not stupid: I know what it costs to get to and from the airport. If you want to pad it out with a bit of commission for yourself, just be upfront about it. My husband is Bolivian, and the lack of professionalism and honesty at so many levels in this country - even allowing for a culture that tends to be very indirect - makes us sad, frustrated and ashamed. I just wish this place hadn't given us yet another example of it, because it's so cool otherwise.

Great value, large apartment and well located.

We arrived at about 6.30am and we were allowed to sit in reception area for a few hours and leave our bag as we explored the city before checking in during the afternoon. The room was a large studio apartment with a separate kitchen area on large bathroom. Bed was very comfortable and located in a quiet neighbourhood which was perfect. Short walking distance to restaurants and bars of Sopocachi and also the Yellow line Teleferique which was unfortunately out of action during our stay but is the best way to see the city from above. Breakfast was delicious fresh bread delivered outside our door and specially delivered an hour earlier for us because we had to leave early. Drinking water provided as well. Definitely worth staying and very good value.

Vähän kuin vuokraisi asunnon.

Hyvä sijainti Plaza Espanan vieressä. Tilavat huoneet ja lämmitys. Ystävällinen henkilökunta. Huoneeseen tuodaan puhdasta vettä, jolloin sitä ei itse tarvitse kaupasta kantaa. Tosin La Pazin hanavesi on kai ihan juotavaa. Huoneesta löytyi lautasia ja aterimia sekä jääkaappi ja joka aamu oveen ripustettiin tuoreita leipiä. Hyvä paikka kaiken kaikkiaan, tosin vähän hintava.

Genial, immer wieder

Absolut geniales Hotel! Apartments super eingerichtet. Immer warme Duschen und jeden Morgen werden frische Brötchen aufs Zimmer gebracht. Hammer Erlebnis für diesen Preis! Einziges Manko ist vielleicht die Distanz zum Zentrum. Mit Taxi oder Bus jedoch sehr schnell mittendrin. Zudem ist eine Station der Seilbahn in unmittelbarer Nähe.

Disappointed at the end

I stayed at Hotel A La Maison with family members for 5 nights. The first four nights were excellent; we loved the hotel, its design and amenities, the neighborhood, and the attention we received from the owner and the staff. Things changed when we left our luggage in storage at the hotel while we traveled to Uyuni. When we returned to stay for a night before returning home, we learned that our luggage had been misplaced. It had been sent with the wrong tourists and the staff scrambled to find it. We were given several stories and several explanations before we actually learned what had happened. The person in charge at the time, Jorge, told us he was going to talk to the owner about some kind of compensation because of our troubles (we had to stay at the hotel the whole day hoping that we would actually get our luggage; we could not even take a shower, as we did not have any clean clothes with us). At the end, he told us he could not reach the owner, and no one even told us: "We are sorry for your troubles." We were quite disappointed, as we enjoyed our time at the hotel and had positive reviews to give prior to this situation. (Aside from this problem, we also would like to note that there leakages in two of the bathrooms where we stayed, and an unpleasant sewage smell in one of them)

Wonderful space and area, but book online

We stayed here for a week and then after a weekend in Copa we stayed for another 3 days. It was an absolutely lovely place to stay in a quiet neighborhood. Highly recommend for families. There is a park and several restaurants nearby, plus it is a short distance from many more restaurants, the central, and the Prado. There is a taxi on call but, unlike it says on the website, it is not a shuttle and you must pay for it separately. We were thankful for the inexpensive and accommodating laundry service. My only complaint is that when we reserved our room with the attendant on the Friday before leaving for the weekend, he only booked our room for 1 day instead of the 4 that I had requested. By the time we came back they had filled the room and we had to move rooms for two nights and then switch hotels for our last night in La Paz. It was extremely inconvenient because we had our two-year-old with us, and instead of apologizing for their mistake and booking a room for us at another hotel, they kept insisting that we had not given the correct dates. For this reason I would suggest making all reservations online so that you have proof of your requests. Other than that, we greatly enjoyed our stay here. In total we stayed in room 2, 4 and PB1. 2 was the best. 4 was without a kitchenette, and PB1 had internet problems and it was difficult to control the water temperature (but the room itself was the warmest of the three).

Relaxing and calm

Lovely place to stay to get away from the hustle and bustle of la paz, or relax after a tour away (as we did). Spacious rooms, friendly staff, comfortable bed and very quiet.
