The hotel was very welcoming, warm and comfortable, and our host at the reception amazing and so helpful. I came in grumpy but was happy and relaxed very soon.
The room was clean and comfortable, nice view in the common area.
The receptionist was really nice and the breakfast was delicious.
Nice place to stay.
Welcomed at checkin. Host knowledgeable total welcome atmosphere. Dinner superb. Only drawback was they forgot to turn off the sunset in order to see the northern lights.
Very friendly staff. We had an early whale watching trip one of the mornings and the staff let us into the breakfast bar early so we could have breakfast and still make it to the boat in time.
I will absolutely recommend this hotel to my friends, nice and quiet rooms, aesthetically furnished space for breakfast, reception and lounge. I guess it’s been renewed not so long ago. Photos online doesn’t look that good as it is in reality. We enjoyed our stay. View from the window also was great (expect plastic bad with garbage haha), but well yes, all was good.
Nice little Hotel/Guesthouse. Staff was very kind and helpfull. The rooms are in good shape. Only limited TV channels but to be honest who is in Iceland for watching TV!
Surrounding is great as you have the Dettifoss and other nice viewpoints in the near surrounding.
They serve a breakfast in the morning which was good. Not too overloaded but a selcetion for everyone.
Beautiful quiet riverside location. Really enjoyed my stay here. Greeted at reception by a lovely chap (Leonardo?) who was very welcoming and organised some soup for me within minutes of my arrival.
The room was warm clean and comfortable. Being out of season (mid October) there were only a few guests staying but there was always a member of staff available.
I can highly recommend this place.
The host kept the kitchen open because we got in so late. Very much appreciated. The room was tiny as was the bathroom, but it was only for one night. Room was quiet and very clean. Comfortable bed.
The stay here was fairly average, except definitely ask for a room farther down the hall. The rooms near the front of the hall are very noisy. The restaurant was just okay, however the waitress told us she could charg
Interesting property that was once a boarding school. Was there in the off-season and there were no dining options available. There is a very rustic restaurant about 10 miles North of this property. The only other option was the town of Hick 25 miles Southwest. If you were traveling to Northern or eastern Iceland, it’s wise not to let you fuel get below half a tank and keep some extra food in the car in case you find yourself in a village where everything is closed at 6 PM.
Iceland is GORGEOUS and the people are lovely, but there are much fewer options in the remote areas for fuel and food.
