A wonderful small resort in Chaweng. Very nice spacious rooms, private beach, amazing(!) service, great breakfast and nice bar. Nearby: Very good local restaurants serving real Thai food, massage shops, fruit shop, 7 Eleven. Located on the quite part of Chaeng and only 7 minutes by Songthaew from the shopping center. We will be back.

We had a wonderful stay at Anavana. Every detail was perfect. Our cottage with an ocean view, was spacious and just right for 3 of us-- a couple with 20 year old son. The food was delicious, the staff was amazing, the beach was gorgeous. I highly recommend the resort and would definitely stay here again.

Really an outstanding little resort!
Really outstanding property and extraordinary service. The staff is wonderful and the manager James too personal care with everyone. We had 4 bungalows - all wonderful - and ate and had drinks here daily, also outstanding. The beach and pool are perfect size for the hotel and of course you can walk up the beach for quite a ways. Not very busy by Poppies which is great but busier beaches are about 30 minutes up the beach. Taking a taxi into town or to Fisherman’s Billage is great for bars and restaurants and of course beach fire shows and drinks. Some beach clubs nearby if you want that sort of thing for a fee. Poppies is Highly recommended!

Quite far with no shuttles Food extremly overpiced snd small Small pool And almost broke my back from a wet floor with no sign. Still in pain. Killed my vaücation with no hotel apologies.

Like bar which was open throughout day, two slots of happy hour 12 noon to 2 pm and 5pm to 7pm. Lovely beach, and towel and bed man always attentive with towels and topping water, fresh fruit and around pool a great asset to the resort. Room for improvement suggest that breakfast menu could be expanded with say self service for drinks. Gardens throughout resorts increase mosquitoes so would recommend defogging and always using mosquito repellant. Great location

Very special place

Wow, this is our 2nd visit to Poppies. James and his staff are outstanding., especially Lek, Jeab, and "M" The breackfast was scrumptious. The location was perfect for walking around Chewang and the beach was great. This boutique hotel is a place of Serenity amongst the chaos of Koh Samui.

The property is right on a busy street but once you enter the doors it’s a bit of paradise. The staff is wonderful and the breakfast is good. While the bungalows are nicely decorated with a traditional Thai flavor the bathrooms need updating. The beach is great, but the pool needs to be retiled. With those two caveats, it’s a good property with great people, and if the price is right book it.

Wonderful stay at Poppies
Wonderful experience at Poppies. The hospitality was incredible They gave a great recommendation for a spa. They sheltered and protected us from Pabuk. The restaurant was delicious! The property is very zen-like. I loved walking through the trees and the ponds. I didn't love Samui (we came from Tao) but our time at Poppies was just lovely.

Poppies is a beautiful garden oasis with individual bungalows. You feel secluded from the world in a little paradise. You can sit at the pool and see the ocean beyond and hear the surf pounding. The ocean was too rough to swim while we were there. The staff are so nice and very helpful.

Best plsce to stay in Koh Samui! Just far enough from the action so your not in the middle of tourist heaven but still close enough to be apart of everything! Most other hotels look worn down on the island but you can tell the level of care poppies makes to ensure that each stay with them is unique and fresh. I loved the little presents they leave outside your door in the morning to the incinses they burn outside your door at night. Would recommend anyone looking for a Turkey awsome experiance to stay here

Mit diesem Hotel haben wir für uns das Schönste auf ganz Koh Samui gefunden (wir hatten ingesamt 4). Der Baustil, die Einrichtung, viel Liebe zum Detail... der Service, viele kleine Nettigkeiten (zum Beispiel immer frisches Wasser am Strand und ab und an etwas Obst). Die Zimmer waren sehr sauber. Frühstück mag ich persönlich lieber Buffet, aber a la Card ist auch okay. Der Strand ist okay, sehr fein ist der Sand aber relativ viel los. Wenn das Hotel nun noch an einem einsamen Strand liegen würde, wäre das Paradies sehr nah... Bei dem Hotel steht Preis Leistung endlich mal im Verhältnis auf Koh Samui (ich finde die Insel insgesamt überbewertet)

This was the 2nd visit to Poppies. We were so impressed last year we had to return and such a warm welcome received with so many staff acknowledging and welcoming us back. You really do not get this exceptional touch at the larger resorts and Poppies really deserves its high rating and praise. Will we return again? Sure will!!!

The hotel is extremely nice, in a good area with a very friendly staff. I would absolutely give them a 5 star review for the normal hotel topics. My only knock on them is the staff made me feel somewhat taken advantage of. They recommended I attend a Muay Thai fight however I soon after learned this is nothing more than a tourist trap. It was basically a bunch of young adults fighting in a high school gymnasium. The gym was extremely hot and the bleachers were invariably painful/uncomfortable. It was a total waste of money. Additionally, when I needed a ride to the airport the front desk offered to call a taxi for me. But the price they set was double the standard rate. I had to renegotiate the price, which the taxi unhappily agreed to but it was very clear the hotel staff had some form of arrangement with the taxi driver. In short, the rooms and resort are stunning but be careful using the staff for recommendations.

Perfection! Wonderful, magical oasis, if restaurant wasn’t so expensive we’d never have left the hotel for our short stay! Staff were lovely, grounds and room beautiful and loungers on the beach so comfortable. Good happy hours too. Not a big fan of Chaweng though, too many load vans advertising the boxing and this is apparently on the outskirts too, so I’m glad we didn’t venture too close to the centre. We only wanted a few days of relaxation at the end of our holiday though and Poppies provided that perfectly.

There is nothing negative to say about this wonderful place! The rooms are stunning with a beautiful outdoor style bathroom and the beach is perfection! The staff really look after you and we loved the incredible breakfast (with real coffee!) and beach service. The lounges and two towels, the water top ups and fresh fruit was so welcomed.

Beautiful boutique resort
Poppies is a beautiful boutique resort with friendly and efficient staff. The cottages are very comfortable and fairly roomy. The bathroom contains complimentary lotions, shampoos and conditioners of a lovely quality. We had a complimentary newspaper and fruit delivered to our cottage each morning as well. The bedsheets were turned down each evening and a small surprise left on the bed. It is the small touches that make this resort so special. Even on the beach we were always getting cold water and sometimes fruit offered to us. Also the breakfasts at Poppies are a must. Everything made to order and so delicious. The only negative for us is that our cottage was very close to the road and next door to a high rise hotel which meant a bit more noise than we would have liked. We will definitely return but will request a quieter cottage. Overall a beautiful resort and one of the best you will stay in whilst in Koh Samui.

Beautiful boutique style hotel
Beautiful hotel located at southern end of Chaweng beach, where it’s a bit quieter. Cottages are very quaint and furnished to a very high standard. Staff are friendly, with a personal service where nothing is too much trouble. Restaurant & breakfast are very good, over looking the picturesque beach. This would be our first choice when we return to the island.

Nice little villa accommodation in lush gardens
Very nice rooms in little romantic pavilions nested in lush gardens by the Chaweng beach. Staff ok but not engaged, food good but not great. Beach beautiful.
