「The Serena Hotel in Lake Kivu was lovely. We had a great room with a lake view. Since we traveled with a guide we did not use any of the extra guest services but we did take a boat ride out to the Nyamyumbo hot springs which was quite an experience. The opposite of a hotel spa! Staff were very pleasant and accommodating. I would recommend this hotel!」

「The setting of the hotel is superb – nice beach (the water has great mineral quality to it), different walks at the door step (Congo-Nile trail or lakeside paths, coffee washing station nearby is great to visit). The food is excellent (from the local vegetable and fruit garden) and rooms are spacious and well-maintained. The downsides are 11 km of dirt track in poor condition (allow extra 10-15 min relative to google maps estimate) and rooms can be too warm at night (24C at night, no aircon) 」

Impossible de manger dans le jardin avec tous les animaux. Pas de vue sur le lac comme cela semble être indiqué. Je recommanderais uniquement cet endroit si vous souhaitez juste un endroit pour dormir, sans plus.」

「A clean, spacious room with a balcony and good view. Helpful staff. Good restaurant. Good location. The website listed air con. There is no air con, but with a fan i was quite comfortable. 」

「The staff are wonderful, both kind and efficient. The reception were helpful and made one feel so welcome on arrival. Getting there at night can be tricky as google maps is wrong while there are few signposts showing the way. The setting is fantastic and what a tranquil and relaxing place! Great place to see Nyungwe forest from.」
