Front desk staff was absolutely lovely. We weren't crazy about our 2nd floor room so Wil happily showed us another on the 1st floor. We loved it, my only complaint is there wasnt hot water when I took a shower at around 2:00 a.m. It was tepid to start and eventually got warmer after about 10 minutes but not hot. We requested a late checkout but our phone was ringing and then housekeeping knocked on our door in the morning. Miscommunication, I guess. Not a big deal. The price was awesome, great breakfast buffet, comfortable bed!

quaint property. Bed was pretty hard; room was nice enough. Conditioner and body wash completely empty in the shower which wasn't exactly appreciated. But overall a nice place. Breakfast was lovely and the wait staff there very kind.

The boiler system broke and the hotel was freezing. No heat from early Saturday morning til who knows when. No heaters offered. Could shower but then froze trying to get ready. Trying to eat breakfast at the buffet was like eating in a freezer. No even mentioned the issue at that point either. We finally went to the front desk to ask what was going on. They offered a 10% discount only at that point. We had to push to get a refund for the second night and only got 50% discount for the first night which was ridiculous because we had to find another hotel to stay at and no considerationfor the inconvenience. There was only a small sign at the front desk informing guests of the issue. It is a shame because it could be a very nice hotel but they really need to renovate the hotel and update things like the boiler and air conditioning and even the rooms. Unfortunately, we will not be staying there again. .

Only complaint was the shower and power sockets. Shower head was noisy and temp hard to control. Power in the bathroom and on the lamp did not work.

We (3 adults) have stayed here before and were happy with the property. This time, we were told that we have to pull out & put on the bedding for the pull out couch. We had asked at the front desk about the 2nd bed being made up and a general handyman was sent. I wasn’t impressed (considering the rate we paid for the room). Breakfast was good but the majority of the hot items on the buffet weren’t very hot. I would return to this property but it wouldn’t be my first choice

Overall the room was nice, clean. Checking in was easy and counter staff was great. Not so great, however, was when we had the “Do Not Disturb” sign on our door and housekeeping knocked and entered our room without even waiting for a response. Luckily we weren’t in bed or getting dressed at the time and managed to stop her from completely entering. What’s the use of a sign if it’s just going to be ignored? Not impressed.

Rooms are clean but very dated with very firm mattresses that didn’t lead to a good night’s sleep, especially when compounded by noise from the hallway and footsteps heard clearly from the floor above. Though I have stayed at this property before, there was no hot water in my room this time. A just warm shower was not what I was hoping for following a long day. Breakfast offerings are always great but don’t make up for a lacklustre room.

I recently stayed at the Donald Gordon Hotel and Conference Centre while traveling to Kingston for work, and I had a fantastic experience. I booked it while planning a stay for the night, and it was exactly what I needed. Since it’s also a conference centre, I’m not sure what availability is like every day, but for my visit, it was perfect. The hotel is extremely quiet and peaceful, which made it ideal for a work trip. The rooms look fantastic, are very clean, and feel modern and well maintained. The staff were excellent — every person I interacted with was polite, professional, and genuinely helpful. The service really stood out. Breakfast in the morning was top-notch. The food was fresh, well prepared, and honestly one of the better hotel breakfasts I’ve had. The property itself is beautiful both inside and out. It’s very well kept, and the setting adds to the overall experience. The Wi-Fi was fast and reliable, which is important when traveling for business. I’ll definitely be staying here again whenever I’m in Kingston for work. Highly recommend.
