The hotel is small, beautiful and quite historical. The location is great. The area needs attention and support. Even though it is winter, there is a sewage smell coming from the river.

Katerina sarayı definitely exceeds expectations. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a memorable stay in the beautiful city of Kars. An iconic hotel thoughtfully decorated A perfect balance of comfort and hospitality! All of the staff went above and beyond to make me feel welcome and at home. I don’t remember the name of each one of them but they were all professional and nice always ready to help and assist. Miss Melisa, Ebru and Mr Erhan were extremely helpful with everything! Oh not to forget the breakfast was so delicious! What truly sets Katerina Sarayi apart for me is Niko (the cat) and the outstanding service! I may have repeatedly emphasized on the service and hospitality but having stayed in many different hotels around the world I’ve never came across such a beautiful team! Looking forward to go back! Heartfelt Thank you to everyone!

Gorgeous and friendly staff welcomed us on arrival, the rooms are a very comfortable size, super clean, easily worked for 3 adults. The whole place is beautifully furnished and presented so it's such an enjoyable place to stay. The hotel is an easy walk along the river into the busy part of town with pkenty of food options and shopping. Outside is a beautiful seating area on the river bank with tea, coffee, drinks, even some wines. The only negative is out of the control of the hotel, but there was a strong waste smell from the river. There are obviously some major civic works underway to fix the leaks and treat the water.

The building is charming. The staff is very helpful, particularly Mr. Ahmet who speaks very good English and is quite knowledgeable and very professional. The rooms are comfortable The breakfast is great.

The staff are so helpful and friendly. Gave great suggestions for my travel and organised the travel. At my stay there were traditional musical performers near the hotel. Wish I stayed there longer.

We were treated as honored guests at this beautiful hotel. Situated less then 10 minutes walk from the centre of Kars, Katerina Sarayi is bordered on one side by a lovely garden next to the rushing Kars Stream, and a steep, rocky rise to Kars Castle at the back. This is fairy tale accommodation, with beautiful rooms, excellent breakfast and royal attentivenes /courtesy from management and staff. Drinks - hot and cold - were always available in the garden and the lobby is warm and cosy, despite the formal antique decor. The resident cat adds extra atmosphere. The only negative aspect was communication before arrival. I tried messages through Wotif and the 2 email addresses on the hotel website, which bounced, so I could not confirm the booking, payment details or make transport reservations. There is not much English spoken, so it was also too difficult by phone. It all worked out however, and we had a wonderful stay - thank you!

This is a very historic hotel. It’s located at the base of the Kars Citadel which was nice. WiFi was non existent in my room. I had to go to the lobby to get a weak Signal. I was woken up throughout the night due to dogs barking. The breakfast was decent and the coffee delicious. The hotel does not offer tours or transportation at the front desk as the website states. Taxi is what they will book for you—including to Ani. Having a hot tea outside by the river was quite nice. There was even cats to keep you company. If it wasn’t for the issue with the dogs, WiFi accessibility and transportation I would rate it a 10/10. But these three issues were important ones for me. So I’d give them a 5/10. I checked out after the first day and now at a central location where none of these issues exist. I even revived accurate information on getting to Ani by shuttle bus. Amazing. A very nice, historic hotel but I won’t be returning

Hayatımda kaldığım deneyimlediğim en iyi otel. Personelinden resepsiyonuna kadar sanki ailemden birisiymiş gibi hissettim. Kafkas gösterisi zaten söylenecek bir şey yok tek kelime ile harikaydı. Kars ayrı güzeldi ama otel kesinlikle çevrede kalınabilecek en iyi yerdi. Kahvaltısı lezzetli yöresel ürünler barındırıyordu. Abartısız bir daha Kars’a gitmek istememin sebebi diyebilirim otele.

Bu oteli ikinci ziyaret edişim otel olarak memnunum temizlik iyi çalışanların tavırları çok iyi kahvaltısı yeterli derecede çok güzel yöresel kahvaltı ama eleştirceğin bir noktada var bu da akşam ateş başında bir gösterisi var bu gösteri sırasında sıcak şarap ikram deyip daha sonra bunu fiyatlandırmaları bana yanlış geldi tek eleştiri bu konuda olabilir
