"Great place with amazing views! Elena, the owner, was lovely but doesn't speak English. We managed with a few words each, a bit of sign language and a lot of Google translate. Rooms are perhaps unusual in decor but very comfortable and lots of choice for breakfast - particularly good omelette cooked freshly by Elena. Good tavernas within walking distance. Fabulous walking with the menalon trail. Very quiet and peaceful. And did I mention the views!"

We’ve traveled the entire country and seen the most amazing places but the Ambelona Retreat is in its a class of its own. "What a beautiful place!! Absolutely gorgeous hotel in the Greek mountains. Seems to be more of a winter destination but we loved being off the beaten path for a night. The two bedroom suite was perfect. Adorable vintage decor, working kitchen, two bathrooms and ac in all the rooms. Breakfast provided was great!"

Staff and townsfolk were friendly and helpful if any needs were identified. Breakfast was HUGE, got to enjoy many delicious options and take away a few pastries for later in the day. Perfect getaway in the countryside."
