This is a lovely hotel and the staff are super friendly and super helpful. Nothing was a problem and the restaurant food was beyond excellent. Great place to stay.
This by far was my favorite placed we stayed in Switzerland. Kandersteg is a gorgeous town and the hotel was so cute. We had the best view from our room. The room was very spacious and clean. The staff were friendly and the breakfast buffet was delicious and had lots of options. I cannot say enough positive things about this location. Absolutely loved it!
We were three adults including my son staying in a three-person room, very comfortable, great view from the balcony. The hotel was an excellent base for hiking in the Kandersteg area, and was close enough to the village centre to easily walk to restaurants and to shop for lunch food.
Spacious accommodation with daily room and cleaning service. Remarkable restaurant staff and notable chef. Conveniently located to activities and shopping. Grateful for the gratis laundromat available to guests.
This hotel is charming! Its less than a 10 min walk from the train station.
I had a free upgrade to a large room with 3 beds. Everything very clean and comfortable. The breakfast was swiss basic but plentiful. Breads, cheese, meats, swiss oatmeal, cereals and hard boiled eggs. Coffee and service fanstastic. Would stay here again!
This hotel has everything i look for in a hotel. It is clean, quiet and incredibly welcoming. Open the window to take in the fresh air. Enjoy a excellent meal. Or just vist for a while. In a two week trip, i finally got a good nights sleep. Acess to the entire town is close by. The mountians and culture are a treat. This is the first place i have traveled that i would like to make a second home.
Easy 5/5. Very clean rooms and a ridiculously clean dining area. Clearly very high standards as people and hotel owners. In fact I could tell that immediately. Honestly, I was just looking for a clean place with pretty good food when comparing the price to others. But everything was outstanding and the fillet steak was exceptional. The employees were lovely too! Really can’t fault the place. Would definitely return.
From the moment we arrived, we were greeted warmly & were even given an early checkin. We had a spacious, cosy room with lovely views of the mountains. There was a balcony but we didn’t utilize it as it was snowing & cold during our 2 night stay.
The shower gel & hand gel were fragrantly lovely. The bed & pillows were very comfortable.
The only very minor issue was the lack of a fridge & no kettle, although we were immediately provided with one after we made a request.
What is so special about this hotel are the very warm, friendly & helpful staff. The very modest looking in-house restaurant is deceptively modest. We had dinner there & the food was superb in its honesty, flavour & presentation! I would happily return just for the quality of the food - truly delicious! Very generous portions too. I loved the pike & the pork cutlet. Both cooked to perfection. We had the home made plum ice cream with schnapps & the black forest cake left us feeling very happy. Kudos to the chef for creating such a beautiful menu. Not ostentatious but cooked & presented to perfection. Highly recommend everyone having a meal here.
Lastly, the hotel is convenient to visiting Oeschinesee, Blausee & sits conveniently next to the bus stop & a 15 minute walk to the train station.
Thanks for a wonderful stay! We loved it!
Very lovely family run property with professional and efficient hosts. Loved the touches like water bottle in room, easiest ever check in (great after a long journey), discount travel card for the area, the decent breakfast that set you up for the day, the laundry facilities (what a godsend!) and the friendly dog. Good location, beautiful views plentiful parking made for a sale pleasant stay. The staff are great and all friendly.
Schon etwas in die Jahre gekommen, aber der Standort und die wunderschöne Gegend kompensieren es. Gutes Frühstück mit feiner Konfitüre und frischen Gipfeli vom Beck.
Loved this place. We had an issue on arrival and they didn’t have our booking from hotels.com. The lady who owns the hotel did everything she could to help me sort the issue and said she would make sure we had somewhere to stay. We were given a lovely room with amazing views of the mountains. Had a great balcony , lots of space, general style of hotel is typically traditional Swiss but was warm, comfortable and welcoming. Would not hesitate to book again. Breakfast was plentiful. They could not do enough for us.
Older hotel but friendly staff and quiet area. We stayed in the summer, rooms are comfortable temperature wise if you open a window or two. Wood floors are loud but only because the town and the rest of the hotel is dead silent. Staff was very helpful and friendly.

Disliked: Cleanliness
