"The hotel is clearly at the beginning of a new journey which will be very interesting to follow as the property has lots of character, is steeped in history and is being beautifully restored and although is a work in progress, don’t let this put you off as the hotel is very charming and beautiful inside. An excellent warm welcome by the host/owner and nothing was too much trouble. We stayed for one night as a couple as part of our trip around Scotland and our sea view room was exceptionally decorated, full of character and was very comfortable and spacious. Breakfast was included in the price as standard and the owner had obviously gone to a lot of trouble as there was more than enough choice, the individual cafetière of coffee being a lovely touch. Would definitely recommend this hotel"

The building is quirky and has so much going for it… probably several £££ million to bring it up to 4* standards, but the staff were super friendly and the room we were assigned was brilliant and had lovely views over the port. Also accommodated for our dog which was really appreciated. The restaurant served a great dinner too and the Scottish breakfast gave us a cracking start on our onward journey. Thank you !"
