staffs were nice and helpful. But the hotel itself was old, bedding was clean but too small couldn’t fit the king size bed. The room has very poor soundproofing, and noises from the hallway can be clearly heard. The facilities are outdated and do not justify the $400+ per night rate.

Room was cleaned and the whole appearance of the hotel was very nice. Views from the pool area and rooms are spectacular. Mandi at the front desk was very nice and helpful with our room needs, also Anita at the bar area was very friendly. I would definitely stay again at this hotel.

Good view out side, really neat room set up with. Bed and center isle. Very disappointed no microwave any where on site, even cheap hotels $80 rooms have microwaves in the rooms or have a microwave for guests to use in the lobby. Towels are on top self, ou5 of reach for someone in a wheelchair. Bathroom was great for someone in a wheelchair.

I stayed at the bay tower. The room and bathroom need updating. The bed isn't comfortable for me. The grounds are pleasant but small. The small pool closed after sunset, which was disappointing.

The rooms were always very clean but the hotel is old and the furniture looks old and worn. The bathroom is very small and the tubs were old and looked like a gazillion people had used them before you. The showers were extremely hard to regulate substandard for what you were paying for the hotel. The drawers either stuck so you couldn’t open them or rolled open when you walked by. The patio door was a joke with the handle almost falling off. Would never stay there again.

The room was clean and mostly in good condition. However, the bathroom was old and the taps in the tub were difficult to use/adjust for water temperature. It was always a little hit or miss as to the extent our room was cleaned and towels swapped out. Sometimes it was cleaned first thing in the morning and other times it was cleaned in mid afternoon. Sometimes fresh towels and sometimes not! However, we had a ground floor room…ocean front with a huge lanai! Listening and watching the waves was a favorite pastime! All in all, there was nothing very “royal” or “resort-like” about the Royal Kona Resort.

The hotel is in a good location, close to the restaurants and tourist shops. Parking is expensive to park everywhere. The pool is small and cold. The rooms are clean but over run with roaches. Our room had a small fridge. The bed was comfortable. The room was large with a couch, two outside patio chairs and table on the balcony. Hotel staff was friendly.

Hotel was average with ok food and drink. Our room was clean and nice but not enough blankets on the bed to stay warm and shower head was nothing special. Our balcony looked over the ocean but was right under the restaurant and you could hear the oven fan go constantly which made it hard to concentrate on the waves. The restaurant was a disappointment food lacked flavor and was costly. They have a little store but hardly had anything in it. ABC is down the street and is a better shopping experience. The pool was nice but not enough room for all the guest along with the private beach which was beautiful. Sadly the noise of the construction was loud by pool and annoying. I will not be staying here again.

The ocean view from the lagoon tower was incredible. The room was also very close to the private lagoon. Staff was friendly and attentive, walking distance to great restaurants and the pier.

The rooms at this property feel extremely old, as if they are stuck in the 1980’s and the facilities are in very poor condition and too expensive for that facility. There were not enough chairs, the bed was old, and the bathroom equipment was outdated in the room. The staff’s response was slow. The elevator was far too old and took a long time to arrive. In addition, the common areas are too small for the number of guests. I will never come back there again.
