Serene and peaceful time with good food.

It was a quiet time at the hotel And we were spoiled by the excellent service. The rooms are dated, and lack convenient outlets for charging phone. Bathroom has an awkward placement for the toilet paper holder. But plenty of space for your stuff and the outdoor grounds are lovely even in early spring.

A great calm place right on the lake

Great hotel, colorful with a nice decoration and a garden right on the lake. A great place to stop for a night ot two if you are on your way to/from Oslo and you want a peacful place. The room is cozy and simple, good value for what we paid. There is also a glamping option in the hotel which looked super nice. We also ate dinner in the hotel’s restaurant and really enjoyed it. Really sorry we could not stay more than one night cause this was a true relaxation. Recommended!

Hotel was nice (albeit very hot with no ac and warm temps) but I had an awful experience with the evening cook (man said he was a student, so hopefully not a full time employee). He insulted me by asking me if I was pregnant, something you never ask a woman unless you are very sure. I cancelled our reservation for 6 people to avoid him, as he was obviously making an insult about my weight.

The location was convenient for our trip. Definitely had a different expectation. Not well kept, bathrooms old and had mold in shower and around the door frame. Restaurant overpriced and limited. Front desk not helpful. Would not stay here again.

Slightly remote. Fifteen minutes drive to other restaurants. That is not too bad. Nice nature walks, but not much else to walk to besides glass stores. Reasonably the place was designed to capture the heat. In hot periods it needs to have a way to get the hot air out. So even when it is not particularly hot outside, it is inside. This needs a better solution than just propping doors open.

Compared to other hotels, hospitality was average ( cold coffee in the bar, not fresh) and room was olddated, with a toilet where you cannot sit without hitting both the showerwall and the toiletpaper holder. Employees are doing their job but not above average, not able to createca feeling thatvwe as guests were welcome. Would not recommend it

Restaurent personale virker meget uerfaren Vi efterlyste til et andet bord og svaret var at de øvrige var booket og at “bordet ved døren fejlede fa ikke noget”? Da der lidt senere kom gæster som straks gik igen fik vi ikke til udt dette bord. Servede hovedretten og vi måtte påpege at vi endnu ikke havde fået forretten) Hotellet er fint men virker lidt slidt Menu var okay men lever ikke op til hjemmesidens anprisninger (lover meget)

En opplevelse!

Fantastisk med Glamping på historiske Thorbjørnrud hotel. Fikk smake på det beste av hotellet samt nyte natten i nydelige omgivelser ute med utsikt over fjorden! Nydelig frokost inkludert og tilgang til hotellrom for toalett og dusj. Virkelig flott opplevelse, anbefales for både voksne, ungdom og barn.

Ypperlig utgangspunkt for å besøke regionens mange attraksjoner. For syklister ett eldorado av muligheter. Var der når gradestokken viste 30 og savnet aircondition, men lånte en vifte og ble reddet :) Liker størrelsen på hotellet, varm atmosfære, fine hagen og nærheten til vannet. God frokost (men kokken må lære å steke egg… her var det vannbad!). Restauranten brukte vi bare en kveld, men kunne absolutt besøkt den flere.

Temu-glamping i fine omgivelser.

Vi dro på glamping for første gang - og selv om vi skjønner at fasilitetene i et telt ikke nødvendigvis er like et hotellrom, føler vi vel at dette ikke helt var det som ble solgt inn i annonsen. Hyggelig personale i resepsjonen ga en god velkomst og var hjelpsom med informasjon, men vi ble overrasket over at såpass mange telt skulle dele på to hotellrom som "bad". Når noen skal dusje, gjerne flere fra samme familie samtidig, gjør det at andre blir stående lenge og vente... Vårt telt lå rett ved en stille "molo", og men det var heldigvis lite mygg. Senga ble beskrevet som King Size, men var max 150 bred, og "rom"beskrivelsen med eget bad og flatskjerm var heller ikke riktig. Varmeovnen funket godt, og det var lett å få god temperatur. Slitt terrasse med slitne møbler. Frokosten var god, og middagen kvelden før var også grei selv om burger og bakt potet ble servert lunkne. Det var tydelig mye å gjøre i restauranten rett før stengetid og dette ga åpenbart høyt stress- og frustrasjonsnivå. Alt i alt, prisen var høyere enn den burde være for det vi fikk.
