La première des qualités de cet hôtel est son emplacement à 2 pas de la Mosquée Bleue et de Sainte-Sophie. Sinon, l’hôtel est un peu désuet, et nous avons eu un problème d’eau chaude qui a mis du temps à se résorber.

We really wanted to love to this hotel as it’s in a great location close to attractions, restaurants etc for our four night stay however the first night our ceiling (Room 205) started leaking due to heavy rainfall and keeping us up all night with the dripping. It was brought up to the front desk, no action just throw down some more towels. Our last night it rained again - drip drip drip. We also weren’t provided with a fridge which it clearly stated when I booked that there would be one. The front desk, Yunus, was helpful with booking a dinner cruise for our group.

The area is perfect, located in old Istanbul where are the restaurants and shops are located within walking distance. The staff were very friendly and the rooms were comfortable. Sadly they got flooded by the rain and there was a leak in my aunts room and it ended up leaking into her luggage. I do recommend this hotel.

We really enjoyed our stay in a nice spacious room with a balcony looking at the blue mosque and part of the sea. The hotel is in a great location for all the tourist attractions and many restaurants close by. We disliked the breakfast. There was too many hot dishes. they did have milk and oats and some fruit which we chose, but we gave the majority of it a miss.

Highly recommend this hotel in Sultanahmet area .

We had a small room on the first floor facing the street but it was quiet and comfortable for our needs . Very clean and good housekeeping . The breakfast was good and the young lady was attentive . I must compliment the front desk staff , Younis , Lokman and Zeki. Younis was so friendly and helped with arranging tours and giving information about the closest ATM etc. Lokman was there every night to greet us when we returned and ask about our day. Younis brought us a basket of fruit and wine due to our status with Hotels.com. This was not expected but very kind and thoughtful. If we are back in Istanbul we will definitely stay here again as the location is fantastic and the staff is very informative and friendly. On a rainy day we were given an umbrella too . Little things mean a lot when you travel . If you choose this hotel you will not be disappointed!

This hotel was amazing. Great and friendly staff. The room and bathroom is clean. Breakfast was ok, could have had more options, but still enough to fill you up and even go for round 2. Location is very good. Within walking distance of the Blue Mosque, Hagia Sofia, Grand Bazaar with close Tram links. I would recommend eating and dining near YusufPasa, as its half the price compared to where this hotel is situated.

We got a suite with 2 bedrooms connected which was very convenient for family of 4. Beds and bathrooms were very nice and clean. Location is walkable to many dining options and all the main siteseeing. The hotel staff stored our luggage for free from checkout to 430pm. The transfer cost to and from airport was comparable to other private shuttle but felt safer. Traditional breakfast was included and freshly made. Not many continental options. We could hear the prayers from the mosque at 430am which we didnt mind and you would hear it anywhere that close to the center. Overall, it was a great stay. Pricey but worth it as we got to enjoy terrace dining with view of blue mosque whi ch we wouldnt have done if we stayed far from center.

Convenient for sightseeing and local transport system. The reception staff were helpful before our arrival and when we were there.They booked our airport transfers and a bosphorus diner cruise. The room was exceptionally clean and the housekeeper was friendly. We had a junior suite on the top floor.

The Obelisk Hotel is situated in the heart of historical Istanbul. The location is perfect for access to all the major sites by walking. We were two minutes from the Blue Mosque, three from Haggia Sofia and five minutes from Topkapi Palace or the Basilica Cisterns. The Grand Bazaar is about 15 minutes walk and the Egyptian bazaar about 20 or 25 minutes. There are local tram stops and lots of taxis for longer journeys. The hotel itself is modern and well kept. The cleanliness and service are excellent. There is a restaurant on site, but it only serves breakfast. However, there are dozens of local restaurants where you can find lunch or dinner. There is no bar at the hotel , but several of the local restaurants offer bar-like service, if you just want a beer or wine. The restaurants want your trade and are not afraid of approaching you in the street with offers etc. Don't be afraid to say no. A polite refusal is well understood. The local Turkish people are keen traders and, again, offers will be made to take you to sweet shops or carpet salesrooms. All very interesting, but remember, you don't have to buy. Overall an excellent hotel in a prime position.
