The location of the hotel itself is fantastic, close to the metro and shopping centre, if you reserve for sea view room you will have a very nice view to the sea from the window of the room. The only dissappoint thing in the hotel is that not all the staff in the hotel are welcoming people especially in the reception.

The location is nice but the property is in desperate need of repairs and renovation. The mini fridge was not working. The room smelled like smoke and we had to change the first room we initially got. The A/C in the second room started leaking but the maintenance person came right away and fixed it. The area and the view are BEAUTIFUL.

Never again!

We had to go with our two-month-old baby. They even put an ashtray in the non-smoking room. When I told them about this, they brazenly accepted it at the reception. The smell everywhere was so bad that it burned your nose and was nauseating. We made a reservation from Doubletree within half an hour and left the hotel, it was a disgrace. They did not refund my money, and despite all my attempts, hotels.com did not help at all in this regard. However, what we experienced as a family with a baby in the middle of the night should have been much more than that. We have preferred IBIS in different locations in Europe before, never again from now on.

Good experience

Overall it was a good experience for a 3 star hotel. The room service was helpful in providing me ice for my injury. However, a couple times I would have to call again to remind them for something after already stating my room number to them. I didn’t really enjoy the restaurant food, it was very expensive for a 3 star hotel but I assume that’s due to the area that the hotel is located in. I also found it strange when the reception staff mentioned to me it was apparently “forbidden to order food from outside to the hotel” when I when down to the lobby to collect my food order. I had been ordering in food all week since I was recovering from an ankle injury, I wasn’t feel physically and mentally well enough to eat out often. This “policy” was never mentioned to me prior. I don’t believe this policy is fair as in certain circumstances some people are not able to eat out and the hotels restaurant food was expensive and to be honest not very tasty at all in my opinion. The hotel was clean and the cleaning staff was very friendly. It is also located in a nice, quiet neighbourhood. We enjoyed watching the beautiful sunset over the marina during our stay.

The Ibis Zeytinburnu was the hotel included in a Costsaver trip, "Wonders of Turkiye". The rooms were well appointed, breakfast included a lot of favourite Turkish dishes with plenty of choice. Taxi fares are expensive from the Old Town Instanbul, but the metro is only 800m or so from the hotel. I was disappointed that I couldn't use the pool as guests from the adjoinijng Novotel have priority and numbers are capped for pool and sun lounge use..
