When we arrived at AJWA Sultanahmet Hotel, we were handed a form filled with numerous legal clauses and numbers. When I spoke with the hotel management about it, they rudely insisted that we either sign it or we wouldn’t get a room. They kept repeating that their hotel housed many valuable items and that they needed to protect themselves from guests. This approach made us feel more like we were in a courtroom than a five-star hotel. Ultimately, we had no choice but to sign.
Furthermore, despite my prior email request for a firm mattress due to back issues, they only changed the mattress cover. The mattress itself was in such poor condition that my spouse and I sank on both sides, with the middle of the bed rising up. This is not what you’d expect from a five-star hotel. The breakfast was also extremely disappointing, nowhere near five-star quality, which only added to our frustration.
Overall, our stay was far from pleasant.
