Staff very pleasant and helpful. We arrived too late for the restaurant but staff recommended the excellent Taste of India restaurant which was about ten minutes walk and open until 11pm. Room was clean and comfortable and although the hotel was really busy there was plenty of food and no queuing at breakfast.

Receptionist was very nice and helpful. But hotel is very dated even though we had a room which had been decorated. Needs a water bath mat as bath is very slippery Would rate hotel below average.

The property is very well located,beautiful views of the lake. the windows are tiny, there are no bedside table lamps, the bedroom door had an open space between the door and the floor, we had to put a towel down because it was cold, we runners were very windy and cold, it felt like we were on the street, the trash can in the bathroom had not been cleaned (it had trash from the previous customer). breakfast did not have hot chocolate for children, (the only hot drink options were tea or coffee. There were several people entering the kitchen and replenishing food, some in uniforms, others in coats, we were unable to distinguish who the waiters were .I do not recommend

Location on the water was great! Convenient to everything in the small town. The hotel is in a heritage building and things are older, floors uneven, hallway carpets stained. However, the bedrooms we had were clean and comfortable. Bathroom was clean. The place had everything we needed for a comfortable and affordable stay.

Unfortunately we were very disappointed with our stay. The whole property is badly needing upgrading. The hotel is in a wonderful location but generally it was not very clean and looked very run down. Most of the staff were lacking in any kind of training, knew nothing much about the area and seemed uninterested in their jobs. The exception to this was the young man who greeted us and helped us with our luggage on arrival and when we left. He was very kind and helpful. On the second day we discovered that the room had not been cleaned or fresh towels provided. When asking at reception we were abruptly told that they no longer did housekeeping of the rooms. I pointed out that it still listed housekeeping on the Expedia website but got no reply. We had dinner there the first night and it was very poor. I ordered haddock and chips expecting it to be fresh and delicious. It was obviously frozen, the batter like rubber and the fish looked and tasted unpleasant. The 2 others in the party ordered salmon as it was apparently gluten free but it came smothered in a sauce which had to be scraped off. Service in the bar was very slow despite the bar being almost empty. At breakfast we asked if the crumbs from a previous diner could be removed from the table. The waiter swept them from the table with his hand! A hotel which could have been lovely was very disappointing due to a total lack of efficient and caring management and training.

Beautiful little seaside town
Room was adequate, but definitely needs a coat of paint to cover stains on wall. Bed was comfortable. Bathroom new and very clean. The town is small, but beautiful and great to walk around. Restaurant in hotel is mediocre, but not many choices in town. Staff was very friendly.

Zimmer waren einfach und Betten ziemlich durchgelegen. Eine Reinigung der Zimmer fand trotz 3 Nächten Aufenthalt nicht statt und die Betten wurden auch nicht gemacht. Dafür war der Preis von 120€ zu teuer. Positiv: Kein Aufpreis für Hund

Needs updating, fresh coat of paint, replace carpeting, remove mold from bathrooms. This hotel was chosen based on location and that was the best feature. Our room was well over 200$ and was a ridiculous price.

I would NOT recommend this hotel, nor would i ever stay there again. It is dirty, staff was rude, (except for the bartender and bar maid, they were great) beds had springs popping into our backs, pillows were flat, window was moldy and unable to open, room was very musty (sent our allergies into overdrive) room rates were crazy expensive for what you're getting.

This property is in need of some serious updating. It is very dated and attempts have been made to give it a facelift but mediocre at best. The beds were uncomfortable and the elevator not working. Receptionist was friendly, wait staff were unprofessional and the food was terrible. Tasteless and over cooked vegetables and breakfast was worse. They cater to coach tours so when we arrived for breakfast there were no plates left. I would not recommend staying here.

There are tours in this hotel everyday so not suitable for individual travelers. No other restaurant in that area if you do not want to eat in the hotel. Easy to walk out to see the sunrise.

Stay away. Found BLACK MOLD all over the bathroom and the room window. The room smelled musty. They’re very close to the water so I’m guessing that’s the reason for the moist issues, but good lord, did they even clean the rooms? We found sand in the carpet and the beds. And the “restaurant” food was tasteless and awful. Like they just warmed up frozen dinner in a box. Rate: -5 stars

A three night stay while we toured Skye in this 2 star hotel will be an experience we wont remember fondly for many years to come. Upon arrival at 2.30pm we were made to wait until 3pm to check in.Walking along the passageway to our room on the first floor I noted that the fire doors ( clearly marked keep closed were wedged open and stayed thus for the duration of our stay) I had booked a twin bedded room, which it was but not a lot of room for much else.The bathroom was in dire need of refurbishment, dirty grouting in the shower area,a previous water leak evident in the ceiling,an extractor fan which didn't work and a loose tap on the basin all lowered my opinion of the place. We returned after our first full day of touring to find there had been no cleaning done in our room.On enquiring about this we were informed it was not standard hotel policy to clean room unless specifically asked!! Fresh towels also had to be asked for. Because the hotel caters for large numbers of coach parties you couldn't book a time for dinner untill after 7pm so we ate out.Breakfast was usually fine if you left it till 8.30 ish but they were sometimes slow in replenishing some of the hot dishes. You have to make allowances for new staff learning the trade and the fact it's a 2 star hotel but none of the things I've mentioned are justified.You have been warned!

This is the worst place we have stayed for as long as we could remember. All the new reviews have described it pretty well already. Staff is not interested to help you or even give you basic information such as when the room should be ready. The check-in time is 4pm and our room wasn't even ready yet. When the room was finally ready, we headed to our room with our luggage, but we had to skip over dirty bed linen and towels that were thrown in the hallway. The room had 3 single beds, even though we booked for a double and an extra single as it was the last room available. We didn't even bother to ask for another room since we were told it was fully booked -mostly by tour buses. The room was very dated, had black mold in several places. The toilet didn't flush properly. The window was open when we got to the room and cigarette smoke was coming in the room. We closed the window, and it got very stuffy quickly. The carpet was filthy. We were told dinner was fully booked and breakfast was first come first served. Super pricey with zero service. Not worth it!

Wow - where to start. Pleasant location but this aging property is in serious need of cleaning and repair. Understaffing exacerbates the problems. Our group had 2 rooms and in both cases there was heavy mold in the bathrooms. When we asked management about this they said it couldn't be dealt with as a specialist needed to be brought in. No other rooms were available. Further, ground floor window would not latch and opened freely. When management was asked about this they said it couldn't be fixed that day and gave us cellophane tape to try to seal it. This is a basic safety concern. There was a permanent wet spot on the carpet - wet wen we arrive and wet when we departed. There was black mold along ceiling corners where leakage has been occurring. One room wasn't cleaned at arrival. When management was asked, we had to show pictures of feces remains in the toilet and used coffee supplies before they agreed to have it cleaned. The bar served only beer and one whisky. Hotel was jam packed with tour buses which made the breakfast virtually unaccessible. It spoiled our stay on Skye. A full refund is more than in order. This is by far the worst hotel we have stayed in and not priced accordingly. Stay away - far, far away.

The larger hotel in this small town right over the bridge from the mainland to Skye. They have parking and a restaurant, although it often gets filled up by large tour busses. The room was small but comfortable.

Property dirty was advised this was due to not being able to get staff. Room smelled of chip fat from extractor fans under window. Tv volume limited so could not hear over fan noise. Lift door stiks and husbands hand got caught in it as he was told to pull open as it was old.Breakfast was a nightmare no plates spider in bowl nothing replenished tables had not been cleared so stitting on a table wher people had previously sat. Hot food was nit replenished so people kept having to as. Urn filled from plastic bucket with boiling water. Was advised dishwash was not working so everything was being done by hand. Excuse was they full . I explained first and last experience should be the same . Was told covid was to blame. I would AVOiD . I feel sorry for all the tourists that go away thinking ghis is the scottish standard. Beds are old and need replaced so not an overall good experience. After all complaints the manager whom i spoke to could only say we cant get the staff.
