Always good!

Always great to stay here, its a big room, fridge, hob etc. Super great that you can get 3 people in one room too! There was a small miscommunication as i didnt recieve my code to get in however a quick, pleasant phonecall with Andrew and I had it in a matter of seconds. We will more than likely be using this facility again next year!

We stayed 4 nights, it was a twin room, the beds were very comfortable, unfortunately the bathroom could have been upgraded slightly, the shower badly needed re grouted, and it would have been good if there were shelves in the bathroom, everything had to go on the floor, which wasn’t great to do!!

The bedroom was well set out, comfortable and clean with nice decor. The inclusion of a fridge and microwave is great - perhaps a cloth and washingup liquid to clean the mugs may be an idea if they are not replaced each day? The ensuite was clean but the Shower unit is in need of some cosmetic tlc - the sealant is discoloured which spoils the overall view.

St Andrews Guesthouse Irvine

Good Points: General area clean (stairwells etc), room carpets/floors, kitchenette and bedding clean and towels provided. TV system working well. Location good. Improvements: Remotely managed and had to continually make contact with management to get any information, eventually got texted a code for check in about an hour before, despite website saying email with info 24 hours before. Had left home and was travelling not knowing if we actually had any accommodation to go to or not. Some holes/cracks in walls, no shower gel/shampoo provided (most places at least have gel), no toilet roll holder so had to awkwardly hold it, bathroom badly needs looked at - shower tray and tiles mouldy and need a good scrub, black mould above shower, and all round inside of window. One plug socket wobbling off wall and lamps didn't work even after plugged in. Mattresses could do with being replaced also.

Very Clean - Lovely Place to Stay

This property is more like an Air BnB than a hotel. I was emailed the front door entrance code and the room key was in the room. The entrance and hallway were very well decorated with clean (possible new) carpets. It smelled fresh. The room was equally as clean, well maintained and tastefully decorated. There was no signs of wear. The room was a good size with a small kitchen area with a microwave, fridge, sink, hob and kettle with tea and coffee. There was a decent sized shower and toilet and a dining table. The bedding was comfortable and my request for extra pillows was met several times over. All in all, a very nice place to stay and I would definitely stay here again

Trouble finding it as the address gives an apartment in a block around the corner. The promised entry instructions didn't arrive and the phone number on the website is wrong. Correct one is on the sign outside the house, once I'd made contact, everything was fabulous.

Ended up not staying at St Andrews guest house. Entrance code to property never came. Even though I spoke to a man called Andrew, the night before. He told me I would receive the code the next morning. Phoned three numbers on to get an entrance code as there is no one, on site. Eventually managed to get an answer on the phone to be told, we were not booked in, that it was expedia's fault, booking was not confirmed. They then said, that they would find us accommodation. At no extra cost. We stayed at The Braidmead, Irvine. Which is a lovely and welcoming place. Very distressing, having travelled for 4 hours and unable to speak to anyone.
