Lovely stay!

We had a lovely stay at Villa Mata. The woman was very welcoming and put our bags in the room for us ready for check in. The room was very nice and the decoration around the villa made it feel very homely and lovely. Would definitely stay again.

This property was wonderful and the owner is so kind and helpful. It's like a 5 minute walk from both the beach and the bus stop to other towns, and is only like 8 minutes away from the port. I had a wonderful stay, and the whole property is so pretty and scenic.

Friendly service.

The room was comfortable and very convenient to the port which was ideal for me as I had to catch a ferry the next day. The best thing about the guest house was the hospitality of the host, zeta, I think her name was. She was very friendly and helpful and made my stay there very enjoyable and comfortable.

Villa Mata was one of the nicest places to stay in Ios. With a unique decorating style and a beautiful quiet garden we enjoyed our time there. Lambros and his family were very friendly and helpful with tips of the island. Very highly recommended and Ios is amazing with it's natural beauty!!

Villa Mata is fantastic place to stay in if you are travelling to Ios. The villa itself is beautiful, surrounded by a fruitful garden and a quick walk to the beach (~1 minute). Also it is very close to the port, a supermarket and Chora. Lambros was extremely kind and always ensured we had what we needed. We will definitely be back 🇨🇦

Villa Mata si trova in una posizione molto comoda, tra il porto, la spiaggia e la fermata degli autobus. Il proprietario lambros è una persona gentile, disponibile, sempre pronto a consigliare con un sorriso luoghi, spiaggie e ristoranti. Villa Mata è di per sé un luogo calmo, rilassante, con un giardino magnifico e delle stanze pulite e equipaggiate con tutto il necessario. Tornero' assolutamente!

The owner was very kind, helpful, and accommodating. The hotel itself is adorably quaint, but at the end of a large gravel lot. It’s a convenient walk to the port and walk (or bus) up to the Chora. The air conditioner didn’t work very well and the twin beds were uncomfortable. Overall a pleasant stay!

Lovely gardens

We got excellent directions on how to get there from the host which is only 3 mins walk from the harbor. He is also on site most of the day and night if you need information or a chat.The apartments are traditional rather than modern set in well maintained gardens. There is also an outdoor communal kitchen and BBQ area which sadly we didn't get time to use. Would definitely recommend staying here and hope to be back soon.

Camera spaziosa (ma eravamo solo in tre con cinque posti letto) con terrazzino. La struttura è un po' vecchia, la doccia con i sassi non è il massimo, non sembra mai pulita

Villa Mata is fabulous, great location, beautiful gardens (including the outdoor kitchen which is great and stocked with everything you need - pans, plates, utensils etc.), clean and comfortable rooms and of course the wonderful Lambros to help with anything you need and to have some good football chat with too! 2 minute walk to the beach, 5 minutes to the port, it couldn't be handier, the port area has lots of bars and tavernas and from here you can walk up to the Chora.

Albergo spartano, a due passi dal porto.

Appena il proprietario ci ha accompagnati nella stanza gli abbiamo subito detto che non era come ce la aspettavamo: piccola, poco luminosa, non c'era spazio per appendere costumi bagnati e ascigamani se non fuori dalla porta su uno stendino comune ad altre persone. La sola finestra che c'era in camera si affacciava su un tavolo dove c'erano seduti ragazzini che ascoltavamo musica a tutto volume. Il proprietario ci ha assicurato che dopo 48 ore ci avrebbe trovato un'altra sistemazione... e così è stato. 2 giorni dopo, tornati dal mare, il proprietario ci ha accompagnati nella nuova camera: più luminosa, con un terrazzino privato dove poter stendere, con un tavolino e 2 sedie dove poter fumare una sigaretta. La pulizia non è il punto forte della struttura, e neanche il silenzio e la privacy. Consiglio la struttuta a clienti giovani e poco esigenti. Il proprietario, Lambros, un ragazzo molto cortese, gentile, a modo, educato, che ogni mattina si preoccupava di darci consigli sulle spiagge da visitare; se non ci avesse risolto il problema avremmo cambiato albergo, come gli abbiamo detto. Sconsiglio la struttura a famiglie con bambini e coppie perchè non c'è intimità, tranquillità e pulizia!
