Mysigt, lugnt hotell!

Mysigt familjeägt hotell en bit från ”centrum”. Buss går direkt utanför för 2euro så man lätt tar sig till chora. 10 minuters promenad från hamnen och man kan gå längs vägen. Väldigt lugnt område med en fin pool och trevlig personal. Fick tips av vad man borde se/göra/äta när vi kom.

Incredible family-run hotel, the room and facilities were all perfect. We got great advice about restaurants (Alex helped us get a reservation at a very hard-to-get-into restaurant!), what to see (and what to miss), and everything was just generally wonderful. It's right across from the bus stop too. Highly recommend staying here if you go to Ios!

Arrived as a female solo traveller. The family were all so kind and lovely and really went above and beyond. I cannot recommend Golden Sun Hotel more if I tried. Brilliant service from start to finish. And the view from the balcony at night was so impressive.

Service at this hotel was outstanding! It’s a family run hotel and has such a personal touch. They are so friendly and go above and beyond to ensure all your needs are met. The view is amazing and only a short drive from the port and they even picked us up free of charge! There’s a bus into town which only takes about 10 minutes so location is also great. Only downside is buses stop around midnight and there are hardly any taxis so most nights we walked home which took up 15-20 mins and all down hill! They don’t provide towels to go to the pool and you aren’t allowed to take your room towel, so that was a bit annoying. WiFi also wasn’t great, hardly worked for me - WiFi at the restaurants worked much better. Besides that it was a great experience!

This is a family run hotel and on our first day we were picked up by Alexandros from the port and greeted warmly. Upon arrival we were given an overview of Ios and what to do locally. All of us were offered water in the sweltering heat. From beginning to end the family were the best at making our stay so welcomed. Thanks to Alex and the family for making it such an amazing time!

Friendly staff, brought us to and from the ferry when we arrived. Great location with a pool and view. Definitely recommend hiring a quad to explore the island quickly. Bus stop is right outside the hotel which is really useful as well. Value for money, only downside is a small bathroom.

Consigliato!

L'albergo si trova in posizione comoda, sia la chora che il porto sono raggiungibili a piedi in pochi minuti. La camera era delle giuste dimensioni e con un comodo balcone. L'hotel dispone di piscina. Alex, il proprietario, e Sofia, la figlia, sono disponibilissimi a dare informazioni sull'isola, ci sono venuti a prendere al porto e il giorno della partenza ci hanno gentilmente accompagnati. Migliorabile secondo noi il bagno: il lavandino è piccolissimo e la doccia non ha il gancio in alto per appendere il doccino per cui fare la doccia era un po scomodo ma in linea generale ci siamo trovati bene e lo consigliamo.

Cozy, friendly, affordable, central hotel in Ios!

The staff was friendly. The room and hotel were better than the website indicates. Can't say enough nice things about the family that runs the place, so kind, the facilities were all in great condition. Exceeds standards for this price range by a lot!

Would Stay Again

The hotel is run by Alex and his wife, the both of them are absolutely lovely and try to do anything they can to make your stay more than perfect. The rooms are nice, filled with what you'll need and the pool has an amazing view of the ocean & the port below. It's about a ten minute walk away from the main part of the village but there's a little path you can take to get there. The other bonus is that it's far enough away from the nightlife that you can get a good night's sleep. I'd definitely recommend staying here and would do it again - they make you feel like family.

Wonderful stay.

We were met at the ferry by the owners daughter and swiftly transferred to the hotel were we were given a run down on the area , how to walk to places and were to catch buses. We were then shown to our room which was clean and had a lovely balcony overlooking the the bay below. The shower was lovely and hot but the water did go out onto the floor( a minor fault) the pool was wonderful with plenty of sun beds to use., overall we had a lovely stay at this hotel and would recommend it to others.

Hotel simpatico ben posizionato

Appena arrivati ci è stata assegnata una stanza mediocre poi cambiata in un'altra confortevole con terrazzino spontaneamente dai proprietari molto gentili. Ottima piscina. Bagno scarso ma ci è stato detto che il prossimo anno molto sarà rinnovato. Posizione strategica per andare al porto o a Chora anche per la fermata del bus di fronte all'hotel
