On check-in, the room we were given had a broken fridge and a broken pull-out sofa. The cushion in the pull out sofa also looked like it was found at a dump.
We went to reception and she had us go up and down from reception to check out about six different rooms that had either broken pull out sofas, smelled heavy of smoke, or had broken fridges as well.
After a long day of travel, we spent close to 2 hours looking for a suitable room. That's not what I wanted to do. I ended up moving a pull out sofa that was supposed to be OK from another room myself because there was no maintenance people. It too was broken and did not work.
The reception person, Megan, said she would report the ordeal to the manager to find us a working pull out sofa but when we spoke the next day to the manager, Jodi, she said there was nothing and she was not willing to do about it because she said they did not offer pull out sofas anymore and that is why the rates were cheap. However, I booked the room for two double beds and a pull out sofa in a room that sleeps 5. I did not get what I paid for!
Jodi never apologized or made any effort to correct the situation. We spent the four days there with a broken pull out sofa.
Finally, the bathtub faucet was broken and only tepid water was coming out - we did not report this because after the ordeal with the sofa and fridge, we knew there was nothing they would do about it.
Never staying at Extended Stay chain. Back to Motel 6 for us!
