The hotel is very expensive for what you get. We paid £158 for a classic double and breakfast. The room is small but ok. It was extremely hot, not the hotels fault obviously, but they only had a very small fan in the room and water is not provided. When we queried if we could have some water and a larger or second fan we were told water was not available unless we were happy to pay and there were no other fans available. The fan we had made a loud clicking noise all throughout the night.
The room and bathroom are slightly tired and could do with some care. One of our windows was painted shut and the other when opened was full of dust and cobwebs behind the safety glass. The walls and door around the bathroom had lots of marks on it. There is also a rubber duck in the bathroom but it is full of mould and should be either cleaned or removed. The dressing table at one side of the bed was also covered in beads - looked like the previous occupants had broken a bracelet and it had not been cleaned.
On checking out when asked about our stay mentioned again the water and facilities as can see Expedia list free bottled water as a ‘perk’. Receptionist said it is company policy that water is only Deluxe rooms and Expedia is wrong! Considering this is a classed as 4 star it’s all just a bit cheap!
The breakfast was lovely and the waitress was on her own for the full time we were there and did an amazing job at managing all the tables- thank you to her.
