"Stayed at this hotel many times before or after a trip
Parking can sometimes be a challenge but you can normally squeeze in
This time we were met and greeted by staff in the foyer
Check in is straight forward
The hotel is a bit of a rabbit warren and sometimes you have to walk a fair distance to your room
Always nicely presented but this time the air con was ineffective and we couldn’t open a window
We are in cast iron and the food was great even though we seemed to wait a long time for it
Staff are very nice
Breakfast is excellent with a good range to choose from
We will be back as and minor issues outweigh what is normally a comfortable stay"
"Arrived to see posters indicating that a boiler was being replaced between 10pm and 4am - there was no mention of this prior to or after booking. Fire alarm went off at 1.45am, spoke to reception who said it was a false alarm. The fire alarm light kept flashing after this. I went to reception at 2.15am who told me the light wasn't flashing as they'd reset the alarm (they didn't ask to check). Went back to my room and at about 2.30am reception called to ask me if the light was still flashing (the light they said wasn't flashing). I was then woken around 3.15am by the sound of drilling or sawing from the boiler work - the sound of which had been going on during the night. The alarm light was still flashing at this point as well.
Worst hotel stay I've ever had. No hint of an apology from reception staff at check out who merely said they'd inform tech services to look at the light."
"Breakfast was great and included. This is not a suitable property for those with disabilities. I was put on the third floor with no lift. Despite contacting the property and receiving what I thought was assurance of on site disabled parking, I was sent to a car park a fifteen minute walk away. "
"Clean rooms, very central for the town. Would recommend to anyone looking for a lovely place to stay in Winchester. Breakfast was good and enjoyed the pool. Although please note children only allowed for 1 hour in the morning which was a bit of a disappointment."
"We had a short buy sweet stay. The staff were friendly, the room was spotless and breakfast was yummy. Plenty of parking too.
Only two things to note
1. We could hear the next door room, and movement (footsteps) from the room above us
2. We booked the 'Executive Room, 1 King Bed'. The bed was two mattresses with one mattress cover - not the most comfortable for a couple."
