Honing Staithe. Recently reclaimed from nature. The first stage of the Canal Walk > 1053555 was opened by Norman Lamb, MP for North Norfolk, on Sunday 28th September 2008. A section of the canal at the entrance to Honing Staithe > 1053570 was cleared and a new walk was created - it turns off the Weavers Way and rejoins it by the staithe, above Dee/Horning Bridge > 1053529 - by work parties of the East Anglian Waterways Association and the North Walsham and Dilham Canal Trust. The Trust was formed in January 2008 with the aim to conserve and improve the route of the canal and its branches for the benefit of the community and environment and to promote access to the navigation for all. With the support of the Canal Company and the owners of the woodland around the cut, scrub and dangerous trees on either side of the basin, and alongside the canal were cleared; the canal basin was dredged and water reintroduced, and a footbridge was constructed over the soke dyke > 1053612. The canal was built to carry grain and flour to and from the mills by wherry. Surrounded by fields. Canal Farm, see also > 1053467 is located west of the village of Honing, surrounded by fields. A farm road, Canal Farm Lane > 1053473 provides access from Station Road, further to the north. This view was taken from the Weavers Way, a long-distance footpath which links Cromer with Great Yarmouth; the path has a length of 90 kilometres and passes through the Norfolk Broads.

Rooms are clean and tidy, pool and spa needs a little updating/fixing small wear&tear such as stairs to pool and pool flooring. Driving range is great fun, nice local woodland ...
